Megastink Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 WHEN will the new season of MLF start??? I'm asking about the Extended Cast online. I highly recommend spending the money and buy the season pass. 1 Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted December 26, 2013 Super User Posted December 26, 2013 Did you check their website? Looks like they posted the date/times on Dec 1st. http://www.majorleaguefishing.com/news_details.aspx?id=2901 Quote
ProCrafter Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 That is for the TV schedule... for Extended Cast they still have the 2013 listings and I have already seen the old shows.... gonna send them a message on they're Facebook page and see. Quote
Grantman83 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 I was wondering this as well. I don't have outdoor channel and only have ever used the extended cast. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted January 5, 2014 Super User Posted January 5, 2014 I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it. I will say however, the smallmouth bass of northern Michigan did not disappoint ~ A-Jay Quote

It only took half the show for them to figure that out.....the leader was not somebody I would have though would be leading either. Can't wait for the extending cast to show up. Quote
simplejoe Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 They started catching them pretty good after the skies were clear. Idk if anybody else noticed that. Quote
brgbassmaster Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Is anyone able to watch this online? Im on the site and don't see anything but i could be missing it. Quote
Megastink Posted January 5, 2014 Author Posted January 5, 2014 I'm dying to watch it. I was at my folks and they don't have the outdoor channel :-( Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted January 18, 2014 Super User Posted January 18, 2014 Round 2 was impressive! Just got around to watching it. Healthy healthy lake they were on. Smallmouth factory! Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted January 19, 2014 Super User Posted January 19, 2014 Round 3 is even more impressive! What an awesome place to fish! Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted January 19, 2014 Super User Posted January 19, 2014 Round 3 is even more impressive! What an awesome place to fish!you aren't kidding. That place is a fish factory. That increased my cabin fever by %100. Some of these penalties are border line ridiculous. Just my opinion Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted January 20, 2014 Super User Posted January 20, 2014 New rule proposal ~ I'd love to see the MLF officials institute a new regulation where by a line test restriction was imposed. There could be a few of different ways they could effect this, here a couple: 1. In the last round, any measurable bass caught on say 4 lb.test (or lower) counts as Double weight. That could be a way for competitors who are trailing to catch up. 2. Or they could really make it interesting by imposing a line test restriction to the entire field during an entire period. During this last event with the bite mostly in open water, this may have added even more drama and really tested the angler's fish fighting skills. Thoughts ? A-Jay 1 Quote

A-Jay Or it would just be MLF featuring Aaron Martens. I like your ideas as a viewer. I'm sure the anglers would be cursing up a storm. Especially someone like Ish who's throwing a frog or pitching slop any chance he can. I overly enjoyed this MLF on Hubbard because it wasn't a dock flipping shallow water beat down like most of these events have been. Good to see off shore jerkbait and drop shotting. I also think there are a few guys in MLF that should be swapped for better/more competitive talent. One being Velvick......I just don't understand... Nothing wrong with the guy and he has history, but he is not on par with that playing field. There are a couple others as well. just my .02 1 Quote

There are a couple others as well. just my .02 Thanks ~ As for the anglers not "Liking it" - clearly this sport is challenging enough. As it stands now, this new and exciting MLF format has taken away the advanced knowledge of what water their on, taken away practice, sometimes limit where they can fish, added the stress of the "live Scoreboard", and put an Official in every boat and still guys are catching over 60 lbs of smallmouth bass ! So I say if MLF wants to really put the "best anglers in the sport" on display, lets kick it up a notch, again. But in all fairness, I'd let them use a quality fish friendly net. I'm getting so tired of watch these poor guys struggle to land the fish. So the excitement / drama would be in the fighting of the fish on light line rather than watching the angler's struggle to safely land the fish without getting hooked and still following the rules. Though they'd probably edit it out (if they haven't already), but sooner or later there will be a treble hook in someone, all captured in HD quality video. A-Jay 1 Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted January 21, 2014 Super User Posted January 21, 2014 I remember that one too. But that was on the launch . . . . . I was a little surprised, Kevin wasn't exactly apologetic. Guess he figures the Camera man was getting too close. That's one way to get yourself some casting space. A-Jay Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted January 21, 2014 Super User Posted January 21, 2014 Man KVD killed em in round 3 setting the new record in weight! It was funny he had like 10mins in penalties and it kind of looked like he was getting annoyed with the official. But what a performance!!! That's why he is considered the best Quote

If the running was any closer or he wasn't in the position he was in I bet he'd been even more steamed. I also noticed that it appeared his official wasn't moving fast enough to get the scale for his liking. He was on a mission to say the least. 1 Quote

But when you are on top I know he secretly has a lot of haters that's just how it is. Wasn't that 5 min penalty for not having his life jacket fastened or something like that I mean come on man lol. Some rules they have are flat out ridiculous but that's their way of getting involved and having it a little more structured I guess. I think the only penalty should be the fish landing penalty. That one where he got a penalty cuz the fish jumped out his grip when releasing it was just dumb. But man that was something to witness I haven't seen someone have em dialed in like that in a long time. Not only did he catch the most by far I believe he had the biggest fish too with a 5+ pounder if Im not mistaken Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted January 21, 2014 Super User Posted January 21, 2014 His 5 minute penalty was for undoing the life jacket before his engine was turned off from what I understood of it. If you watch FLW or BASS you'll notice when guys run to spots and are in a hurry, they will jump up and take off their jackets as they're coming off of plane kind of in the same fashion he did. I think it's habit especially when running and gunning. Heck, I've done it and I don't even fish competitively (except in my head, lol). Just stupid penalty overall if you ask me. 1 Quote
MichiganBass80 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Just in case some haven't heard/read, they now have their new online extended cast basspass system up. They have the first three episodes of this new tourney up so far. Quote
