ClackerBuzz Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 very cool. got me as Philly w/ Yonkers/Newark possibility. i like how they tell you 3 distinctive answers. (for me: hoagie, mischief night, sneakers) Quote
Super User tomustang Posted December 25, 2013 Super User Posted December 25, 2013 It's: Yous guys Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted December 25, 2013 Super User Posted December 25, 2013 That was really really cool! Got me perfectly in the Baltimore/DC area, also threw in Richmond but that's pretty far away from me. My distinct answers were pronouncing "cot" and "caught" differently and calling a sale of unwanted junk a yardsale. It looks like they don't ask the same questions (I never got asked any questions that would have a possible answer of "sneakers"). Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted December 25, 2013 Super User Posted December 25, 2013 It had me at Arlington, Ft. Worth and/or Shreveport, pretty d**n close. Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted December 25, 2013 Super User Posted December 25, 2013 Got me as OKC, Lil Rock, Shreveport so pretty close Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 25, 2013 Super User Posted December 25, 2013 Strong south Louisiana through the SEC states and into Virginia. I grew up in New Orleans and live in Richmond, VA, the Capital of the Confederacy. Interesting test. I did notice some specific jargon for specific parts of the country. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted December 25, 2013 Super User Posted December 25, 2013 Had me in my original home area, Michigan. Some 50 years ago I lived in Kentucky for 2 years and acquired some of the local colloquialisms. Once I got back into an urban setting my vocabulary and accent returned. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted December 25, 2013 Super User Posted December 25, 2013 I cannot read the article unless I subscribe to their online edition. I've reached my ten article monthly limit. Alas, I shall miss out. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted December 25, 2013 Super User Posted December 25, 2013 Wow pegged me perfectly with Buffalo and Rochester which I live smack dab between both. Rochester is 45 min east and Buffalo is 45min west. It also said Grand Rapids must be they say "pop" instead of soda and have thru-ways the two answers that probably gave away instantly where I live. Quote
Super User Teal Posted December 25, 2013 Super User Posted December 25, 2013 It got me right. It called me as Greensboro NC and Richmond VA. So that pretty dag gone close Quote

Had me for exactly me same, even though I said soda and expressways. Me thinks the site picks up on your IP address or something and traces the location of your connection. Quote
