I fish a lot.  Of course a lot is open to interpretation.

I would guess I easily fish over 100+ days a year. I feel lucky to be able to do so.

I don't keep a log but when I ran some quick numbers I realistically only fish 80-90 days.

(March 3; April 5; May 8; June 10; July 12; Aug 12; Sept 12; Oct 10; Nov 8; Dec 2)

How many days per year do you think you fish vs actually fish?

I average 3 days a week so 3x52=156. That will vary a bit during the colder months if everything freezes up close by so I can't hit any small lakes or ponds but I still almost always get out 1 day a week even during the winter. Then I also have fishing trips where I may fish for a week straight to kind of offset that. I would have guessed somewhere around 125-130 days a year and by my calculations that's pretty close.

After ice out i will usually shore fish before work and then go back out again in the evening with my kayak. I will do this until late in the fall.I have been known to go out 2-3 times a day on a day off if the fish are biting or its nice out.I have never kept a fishing log to keep an accurate count but my sister in law commented to my wife once that "There is no way he can be fishing all this time ,nobody likes fishing that much"

Me getting 50 days a year would be phenomenal!

As it stands now with a crazy project at work, a nearly three year old and twin 6 month old babies, free time is, shall we say, "rare". I'll be lucky to get 20 days this year.

I keep fairly good records and I usually fish every day (minus days I'm traveling or if the water is hard).  Water has been soft all this calendar year. So, December 24th is the 358th day of 2013 and I was traveling 21 days this year.

358 minus 21 = 337 days fished so far this year..............and there's still 7 days left in the year to fish................

I'm curious as to how many hours you might fish in a day. I seldom go out for an hour or two unless the weather is iffy. I may only fish 30 to 35 days in a year, but of those days, I average 9 or 10 hours per day.

Last year was 52 days on the water.......

This year I have to add up my logs and will do so and report back!

I have kept track loosely, between April-Nov. I put the boat in the water about 125 times a season. That includes tournaments, full days on the water,  evening trips after work/morning trips before work, partial days when were rained out at work, etc.....

You posted right under my post so I'm assuming you were directing this question at me?

I make it a point to fish every day - even if it's only an hour or so.  I fish every day in winter even though I know that there is a high probability of getting skunked.  VERY severe weather and perhaps I'll skip a day but that didn't happen in 2013.  I have 13 ponds/lakes all within a 6 mile radius so it's easy to hop in the car and be at some water in just a few minutes.  On total or average hours - I don't keep records of that.  I also sometimes fish twice a day so that makes it a bit tougher to calculate. Anyway, from the bank, I fish from 30-45 minutes to 4 hours - probably averaging 2-3 hours a day in good weather, less in winter.  I had the boat in the water 73 times this year and a "boat day" ranges from 4 hours to 9 hours - probably averaging 6-7 hours.

Actually, I was asking you and any of those who are replying on this thread.

I used to go out before work, during lunch and after work because there was a lake in 10 min from my place which is okay place to fish with some big ones in it. I liked doing that as I am more concentrated. However they almost drained the lake this year and now the water level is less than 10 percent. So I have to drive more this year and I say my average probably around 6 or 7 hrs on the water.

I fish close to everyday when there is open water probably 150 days or more. I also have a pond literally right across the street from where i work so sometimes i just go over there for an hour or two after work.

Weather-permitting, we would be out every weekend plus about 3 weeks on vacation.

However, on days with a high T-storm percentage or winds over 20 knots, we tend to stay home.

So realistically we probably fish about 100 days a year (noon to sunset).

Probably more than I should but not as much as I'd like.
