Ever had a day when nothing goes right?

We went to the range to sight my new .308 in today, as well as my BILs 3030. We end up getting lost trying to find the range. An hour and a half later we find it. We get there and I forgot they don't have rifle rest and mine is at home. :( I figure I came this far I'm hell bent on shooting this rifle so we will just wing it and finish the job next time. About that time we realize the spotting scope is in another bag from our previous pig trip and sitting at home. :( Then we realize that my BIL left his 3030 ammo at home. :D

Well we have come this far so we decide to make do. I haven't bought my bipod yet so that nixes that method. I can't go prone on the wet case littered concrete because its a no no when the range is packed out. I end up using a card board box folded up as a rifle rest on the shooting table. I can't get comfortable and get my rifle positioned right, but figure what the hell. Thanks to my jacked up positioning. As well as the way I hold my rifle the butt was pressed tight to my arm. Dang thing kicked the crap out of me. I spend the better part of fifteen minutes adjusting, and find a decent position. Boom boom boom. All three rounds go down range and hit within a half inch of eachother 8 inches high and 9 wide to the right. By the end we had them within 3 inches of the bullseye. Not bad for winging it.

Now for the funny part. My BIL is finally getting to shoot his S&W M&P 9mm. He has bragged about this gun since he bought it 7 months ago. Locked and loaded the first two rounds eject straight up in the air. The next 7 stove pipe! He blames the cheap ammo for this. Then we load my glock and it shot flawlessly 2 to the head 31 in center mass. This repeats the next 30 rounds through his S&W. He is mad as a wet cat over this. He finally strips the gun oils everything and tries again. It ain't stove pipe another round, and also shot extremely well.

It was definitely a fun day.

3500 rounds between my g26 and g19 since I purchased both for carry rotation a few months ago. Not a single malfunction, strong hand, off hand, in the rain, in the snow, rapid fire it hasn't mattered.

Sounds like a good day anyway!

Been there done that on somedays your not alone. I been using the bore sighters but I just purchased the lazer bore sighters and they work awesome. To get some rifles on paper were we cant use a bore sighter in the past before the lazers we used a spotter who watched the 100yd berm to see where its hitting and adjust it close so we could put it on paper. Most of the time now im zeroed in three shots. With my 338wm the last two shots I took the X out by putting two bullets thru the same hole. Benchrested of course. Shes my bear rifle.

Oh, goodie.

I don't associate with too many people that are able to buy a gun and then wait 7 months to shoot the thing unless it's a collector piece. Obviously, M&Ps are not intended as collectors. I've got the full size 9 and compact 45 and they both work flawlessly.

Side note: Just bought a S&W Governor the other day. BOOM ;)

He claims he has been too busy and broke to shoot it. Hell his last S&W that he swore up and down was 1000 times better than any Glock ever made, would eject the casings straight back into your face if you tried to rapid fire it. This fool even tried to show me videos and articles claiming it was better. He gave it to his wife and it popped two casings straight up and down the front of her shirt. I was rolling on the ground when that happened.

Ain't seen the Governor yet. I'm gonna pull it up in a bit.
