Shane Procell Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 In 2010 there was a bad freeze in South Florida that killed many of the Peacock Bass. This year I have really seen a significant increase in both numbers and quality sized peacocks. I was with a client in The Miami Airport Lakes system a few days ago. We brought some shiners with us as a backup just in case. It was a good call. The large female took a shiner free lined under a bridge and the male took a Rapala Skitter Prop on top. It was an excellent day as we caught four peacocks over 4#'s and some smaller largemouth bass. Merry Christmas to all of the BR guys and gals. 4 Quote

Super User BassinLou Posted December 24, 2013 Super User Posted December 24, 2013 Thanks for the video Shane. I pass through that area for work 2 days out of the week. It's such a pretty area to fish. Such an awesome fishery right in the heart of Miami. I love it. 1 Quote

SFL BassHunter Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Hey Shane are there any spots on Blue Lagoon for shore fishing? I'd love to give that a try but haven't got a boat. I also been lookin on google maps and can't find any open areas that I can post up and do some fishing without getting kicked out. Quote

The place is covered up with homes in the back canals and businesses/apartments on the main lakes. Quote
SFL BassHunter Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Yeah just as I suspected. Well, hopefully within the next 6 months I can get me something like the sun dolphin 2-man pro 10.2 to hit the spots I can't hit now. Quote
