Can I Get A Different Spool To Increase Line Capacity

I have a chronarch e5 I'm using for swimbaits and i would like a little more line capacity for bombing the lures way out there on 25lb test without going into a round reel or getting the curado 300e any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated.

I would just use braid with a fluorocarbon leader or straight braid. You arent going to cast out 100 yards of line.

^^^ excactly. A 30lb braid line has the diameter of the average 8lb mono line. You should be able to get more lines now.

Not trying to be sarcastic here, but you guys must be very very good and have some deep pockets. I year ago I tried throwing swimbaits on braid, then braid w/leader, only $15-$20 ones. It doesn't take much of a backlash to send that swimbait into never never land. 

 

 

 

basshole 8190, I don't have an answer about changing out the spool, but I'm sure someone will chime in here. I'd stay with the mono or Flouro line.

What size lures are you using? If you're around or under 4 ounces, maybe drop down to 20 lb line or even 17 if you'r not fishing DD water with a lot of cover. If you do drop down, use a quality line and be diligent about changing it out. You could also back with braid and use a 30-50 yard top shot of mono, but make sure that connector knot is very, very solid.

yea i didn't want to ruffle any feathers but i learned my lesson the hard way with braid and swimbaits i use mono for all applications swimbait. just trying to save myself from buying another reel when i won't get much use from the chronarch 200e5 as i don't do a lot of cranking

Most of them will be 3-6 oz. ill try the 20 lb but ill be a little uneasy about it was hoping dvt or other reel experts would chime in with some advice

An important life rule is, "Use the right tool for the job"  Its corollary is "or suffer the consequences."  Maybe it is just me, but I think that a Chronarch (even though it is a Shimano) is a little light to be throwing 3oz + baits any distance.  I would think that a heavier duty reel is in order.  (I think that, I don't know that - significant difference)  Of course, money is always an issue, and if so, use what you got.  The worst that could happen is that you tear it up and then you will have an interesting story and a desk ornament.

Most of my baits are floaters or glides and i use an okuma big bait 7'11 h swimbait stick i was under the impression that the rod is what gave you the ability to cast distance and my concern is spooling my reel on a long cast

With baits that big, I'd get a bigger reel. If your Chronarch holds 100 yards of 20 lb test, you could use it, but you're stretching it. Maybe get a 300 or 400 sized Cardiff for that rod? Probably wouldn't cost you any more than a custom spool.

The E5 spool is not unusually shallow. I don't think that's the way to go.
