aceman387 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 I stumbled upon this site a few years ago just as i got back into fishing again. At the time i had one or two combos and a minimal amount of lures and terminal tackle. Because of this site i now have had to push one vehicle out of the garage so i could devote more space for my kayak and pond prowler and for my soft plastic/jig buying obsession. Thanks alot you guys. 1 Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted December 19, 2013 Super User Posted December 19, 2013 Believe it or not, this place also influenced me to start in the swimbait world. Thank ya. Quote
Super User Catt Posted December 19, 2013 Super User Posted December 19, 2013 Cavitron Buzzbaits, still don't think they the slowest but they do get tied on first. Rattle Head Spinner bait, comes through grass cleaner than any. Swim Baits Every thing Rage! Quote
B@ssCrzy Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 When I first started checking this site out I had an Ugly Stick spinning combo and I fished with night crawlers......since then I now prefer my Curado E7's and 50E series reels and slowly dragging a crawler on the bottom is like watching paint dry!!! Have learned most of what I know about bass fishing on this site. My favorite technique that I learned was swimming a jig. Northstar broke my heart with their recent announcement!! Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted December 19, 2013 Super User Posted December 19, 2013 Frog Turds aka Dirty Pig convinced me into a Dobyns purchase. Before that I have all St. Croix rods. I also finally bought a Pro Qualifier because I wanted another frog reel at high speed without breaking the bank. They got enough praise here from reliable users that I had to get one. If it sucks next season, I'll put it up on the flea for someone. I think I'll be happy I got it, so far it feels good. Other things like JJ's, Megastrike, Mag 44 lure retriever, and Siebert jigs were all discovered through BR for me. Quote
basscatcher8 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 well 100 bucks later this afternoon and i got a new poison tail jig mold coming 3 new powder paint colors and enough hooks and eyes to make a 100 of the poison tails lol I'm chalking that one to bass resource too lol Quote
5 Dollar Fishing Game Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Jigs. Still learning them. lol Quote
Brian6428 Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Rage tail- Love them now. Megastrike- Every jig has some on it before it leaves the boat. Swimbaits- Caught a few quality fish on them, but I am not comfortable fishing them because of fear of snags. May sell them soon but that feeling of a 4lber hitting a huddleston was unforgettable! SGT Rico Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Northstar and Siebert jigs. I learned how to fish a senko, but above all, I can put more fish in my boat due to the knowledge I've obtained here. Thanks BR!! 1 Quote

wisconsin heat Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I have bought a few items from our sponsors, but I think hearing feedback about products helped me stay away from the bad ones just as much as persuaded me to pull the trigger on good products. Quote
coryn h. fishowl Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Every Ragetail product in my tacklebox (you all just had to keep giving stellar reviews) 1 Quote
KyakR Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Ragetail, Megastrike, and the most beautiful custom rod made for me by Mike at Delaware Valley Tackle! First one I ever owned. Casts like a dream! Going to buy a Chronarch 50e and JJ's next 2 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted December 22, 2013 Super User Posted December 22, 2013 Wow, where to start. I really like the Strikeback Spinnerbait, Yum tubes, Siebert's unleaded jigs, Rage Tail products and Megastrike scents. I'm sure there is more, but those come to mind at the moment. The things I didn't buy were the friendships I've made. I've had the privilege of being invited to fish with Rhino, tate and grampa on multiple occasions and shared a lot of laughs and memories. I'm also blessed to have a good friend on here whom I've never met or fished with, but we text each other a lot and have shared more laughs than any person I've ever been around with. Welcome back my friend...you Freak!..LMAO Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted December 22, 2013 Super User Posted December 22, 2013 Megastrike attractant, Rage tail grubs, and Shimano Curado 51E's to name a few. Quote

Will Wetline Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 BR has helped me refine and expand on presentations of baits I'm somewhat familiar with such as wacky rigging Senkos and successfully throwing baits I hadn't used before - Strike King's Red Eye Shad for one. Of particular interest is the Tacklemaking Forum and especially posts by smalljaw67 and Cadman. One aspect of BR that I really appreciate is that this site does not permit the often juvenile, mean-spirited trash talk found on other forums. One final comment: Contribute! You may not be an expert but you do have something to say. Just about all questions are "intelligent" - ask. If you're working on a project, post a few pics and write some commentary on unusual aspects. You may be helping someone else and you may receive some constructive criticism to improve whatever you're working on. Participation is what makes a forum fly and I'm happy to be an active member of Bass Resource. 1 Quote
