Super User slonezp Posted December 19, 2013 Super User Posted December 19, 2013 What did you buy or try as the direct result of asking/reading about it on BR? I'll start. I never fished with low profile reels before becoming a member of BR. Abu C3 5500 was my reel of choice. RW tried to talk me into the Shimano line, but I knew better I stuck with Abu. I now use the Revo STX and Toro for most of my fishing. I learned about the Jika rig here and it was one of my most productive techniques this year. I learned about hard swimbaits here, but have yet to catch a fish on one What did BR make you try or make you buy? Did it work? Any regrets? Quote
Mckinney24v Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 I've bought multiple things because of BR but the two most prominent would be Northstar jigs and the Fat Ika. I don't regret buying either because they both have produced quite nicely. 1 Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Veritas rods , PQ reels, Alabama rig. various line , lures and accessory items. List is very long. Reviews and opinions from members here carry more weight than any other site I frequent. My only regret was the A rig but not because of BR , just wasn't my style. 1 Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted December 19, 2013 Super User Posted December 19, 2013 Suffice it to say, that I have improved every aspect of my angling world as a result of The Bass Resource web site & forums. However, there is no doubt that the Best addition is at least Two Very Good Friends. A-Jay 4 Quote

Super User AK-Jax86 Posted December 19, 2013 Super User Posted December 19, 2013 Thanks to bass resource I have become a frog addict. I can admit it an that's what they say is the first step... BUT I have NO intention of stopping my habit. I am a frog addict and I am proud of it! No rehab or intervention will work I am an addict for life!!!! Quote
loodkop Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 I don't think I would have bought any Rage products without seeing Big O posing with his harem of fat girls. 1 Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted December 19, 2013 Super User Posted December 19, 2013 Siebert jigs- recommended by several trusted members Fat Ika rigged weightless and backwards- Road Warrior Megastrike scent-Lots of folks here swear by it DVT- several favorable leads lead me to sending some reels to Mike last year True hairjigs- had some but not to the extent of what I have now That is about it as far as items/services tried as a result of BR. tbone1993 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 JJ'S Magic . I was never a fan of scents or dyes because they made a mess. Seeing how it impacted my shakey head fishing was unreal. Quote
Bass Menace Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Got me some Ultra-vibe speed worms (yet to catch a fish) Rage Anaconda (Caught plenty of fish) Would really like to try the 13 Fishings *** rods. Alas they are not available here. Quote
Toeshots Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Before finding BR, I had 1 baitcasting setup that cost about $80 total and was happy with it. Since finding BR last year and excluding the countless new lures/baits I bought based on discussions here, I've purchased the following: - 2 Chronarchs - Lews TP - Daiwa Sol - 2 PQs - Pflueger Supreme MGX - 2 St. Croix Avids - St. Croix Premier - Crankin Stick - Lightning Rod Shock (frogs) - Fenwick ET Smallmouth It's a slippery slope I guess. I'm hoping to NOT buy anymore setups this year. We'll see if that happens. As far as lures go that I found on here, the biggest would have to be the Red Eye Shad. I bought a few after reading the praise from people on the board and I went from catching nothing last spring/early summer to being confident I'd catch at least a few even if the jig bite wasn't on. The yo-yo retrieve just works wonders that time of year. 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 19, 2013 Super User Posted December 19, 2013 Not so much the site itself, but the people here, and their shared success got me into: A boat. Learning WAY too many knots. Meeting strangers at the ramp. Accumulating WAY too many rods and reels. Just kidding...a few things I might have learned myself, but this place made it easier: Swimbaits Hand tied jigs JJ's Magic and Megastrike on just about everything Getting back to cranks Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 19, 2013 Global Moderator Posted December 19, 2013 JJ's Magic without a doubt A swimbait setup and a whole bunch of swimbaits Quote
basscatcher8 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 All of my jig and sinker molds, powder paints, airbrush. My folks never did find their rotisserie motor cause I had to running my lure dryer lol. The tackle making forum brought me to this page a long time ago and the rest of the boards are what kept me coming back. I slack off from time to time in posting her but always seem to come back.
