Super User retiredbosn Posted December 20, 2013 Super User Posted December 20, 2013 Three years on Cape Hatteras strapped to 82 ft Patrol Boat did me fine . . . . . .WPB 82379 CGC Point Martin. Super User A-Jay Posted December 20, 2013 Super User Posted December 20, 2013 Yes they were some big waves, it would have sucked, lol. My first duty station was a 95 footer, Cape Upright, out of Savannah. That was the only duty I despised. I never had the misfortune of being on an 82 footer. Our XPO (QMC Miller) had been on one, he said they both sucked as far as how bad they handled heavy seas, but the 82's were worse, in his opinion. Hatteras u say, even in good weather it was bad there, only passed thru a couple times never stationed there. Were u there when BMC Pollard was, another old chief I would like to know what happened to was BMCM J. D. Arndt (Chief and Senior when I knew him). I won't bore everyone with old sea stories though.
