Super User Dwight Hottle Posted December 15, 2013 Super User Posted December 15, 2013 Glenn we were trying to keep that on the down low. 1 Quote
Smokinal Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 I'm gonna get me one of those! So far I have only used the HJ and KVD Shiner but that Rogue looks good too. Plus every cold water basser needs to have a Rogue! Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted December 16, 2013 Super User Posted December 16, 2013 The water temp here is getting down to that magic 53° mark. I'll have one of these tied on and on the deck of my boat for the rest of the winter. Quote
kylek Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I am hoping to find some of those under my Christmas tree this year. If not, it won't take me long to go grab a few. What's everyone's favorite color? I normally use the black/chrome the most. Quote

blockel Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 I am hoping to find some of those under my Christmas tree this year. If not, it won't take me long to go grab a few. What's everyone's favorite color? I normally use the black/chrome the most. It's an intriguing jerkbait, for sure. I've got the "Juice" color and I've done decent on it. The picture on Tackle Warehouse doesn't do it justice though, Smithwick's website has a much more accurate depiction of the color. Regardless, there several classic colors that I'm sure would do the trick, black/chrome being one of them. Quote
Super User Catt Posted December 20, 2013 Super User Posted December 20, 2013 Gold Black Back Orange Belly 1 Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted December 21, 2013 Super User Posted December 21, 2013 I am going to order some on my next TW spree. I like the price, and I like that Ayu and Golden shiner color. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted December 22, 2013 Super User Posted December 22, 2013 The only drawback is that the middle treble has a tendency to cause eye damage. On all these type baits that I use, I remove it. Hasn't hurt my hook-up ratio at all and reduces damage. Actually, since I've started removing it, I haven't caused any eye damage for a couple of seasons. 1 Quote
basshole8190 Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Gold Black Back Orange Belly I'm beginning to see a correlation with you and lures with orange bellies 1 Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted December 23, 2013 Super User Posted December 23, 2013 I'm beginning to see a correlation with you and lures with orange bellies. It is not just Catt. Smallies show a strong preference to orange bellies or throats. So do largemouth. You couldn't go wrong by painting orange throats or bellies on all your baits. Try it. Quote
L a r r y Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 . It is not just Catt. Smallies show a strong preference to orange bellies or throats. So do largemouth. You couldn't go wrong by painting orange throats or bellies on all your baits. Try it. I concur......I've been experimenting with the color orange this year, and it has produced well. My favorite is to take a swimbait on a chatter bait, and paint the belly orange.....result three 6lb bass on back to back to back casts in 15 fow over grass........awesome 1 Quote
basshole8190 Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 I have used a lot of baits with orange in the past last two years I've kind of went away from them not sure why ill have togo back and use them more often Quote

Basshammer Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Yes, i have used blue silver and orange rogue and it has produced very well during winter and spring. Quote
