and if you mix it with a anything more than ice (I hear a splash of water is supposed to wake up the flavor) then don't waste your money on the good stuff. Beam is cheap and mixes well.

Amen brother

Makers Mark and Woodford Reserve are the best everyday drinks. Basil Hayden is pretty good as well. If you're on a small budget Old Forester has to be the best of cheap bourbon. Since the holiday is here, apple pie moonshine is the best holiday drink. (Moonshine basically unaged bourbon. )

paul masson is affordable and pretty good with pepsi

I prefer Scotch that old enough to order its own scotch. It has different taste to it than corn whisky. However, the past week I been drinking 4 years old aged brandy that not going to live to see its 5th birthday. Paul Masson aged brandy is very good! I got a bottle from my cousin as a birthday gift;I finally cracked the bottle open and was very surprised with its drinkability and it doesn't burn either at 80 proof.

Edit: On my birthday I had a 1999 edition Rocky Patel cigar paired with McClelland Highland scotch, it was amazing.

There are some good brandies out there. The Mexican stuff Don Pedro or President....the Greek is good too, Metaxa has a few variations, some is cut with muscat wine. Smoooth. Can't forget sliwowica! Unique and good if you buy the right stuff. Just ask Martin he knows or at least his mom does ;)

Does he go by the name Robert? His answer is not valid in this thread

.dsaavedra,

If Jeff can ship it to you, I will send you a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle next year when it becomes available.  This year I believe it's all sold out already.

dsaavedra, Take him up on it. Redlinerobert has great taste in booze. He sent me a bottle of the best tasting wine I've ever had during last years Christmas exchange.

Oh man I would looooove to try it. Unfortunately I don't have the funds. May be by next year I will have come into some money, I will definitely keep this offer in mind. Who is Jeff?

If he won't take the Pappy, I certainly will. I have tried most by virtue of my previous employment, and they are not to be missed if you get the chance.

I went through a bottle of Maker's recently.  It was very good.  I wanted to do a test so,  I bought a bottle of Jim Beam.  I only do ice.  The Jim Beam was....bourbon.

I drink a lot of Sam Adams.  While Bud is beer...it's not Sam Adams.  Same (to me) for the bourbon.   I like Buffalo Trace.  I almost went Knob Creek.  I think I will when the Beam is gone.  I am certainly liking the testing.

I got a bottle of Knob Creek for Christmas from my cousin. I'd had a 50ml sample of it before but after having 2 glasses out of the bottle I got for Christmas, I really like it!

Santa bought me a bottle of makers mark 46, I really enjoyed that bourbon. A little more bite than the good old makers mark I treat myself to on occasion.

Journeyman Buggy Whip Wheat. Very nice bourbon!
