Super User Tin Posted November 3, 2010 Super User Posted November 3, 2010 For someone who has fished with him, there are a lot of other jigs besides Strike King in there, lol. Quote
SDoolittle Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 He keeps it pretty simple, doesn't he? Quote
Big-O Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 He keeps it pretty simple, doesn't he? Yes he does, and he rarely fishes any given spot without picking up one of his jig rods. Big O www.ragetail.com Quote
Super User senile1 Posted November 3, 2010 Super User Posted November 3, 2010 The colors he uses are very similar to mine. I'll bet 90 percent of bass anglers use those colors. The 3/8 and 1/2 ounce are his favorite sizes but those aren't the only sizes he uses. http://www.brauerbass.com/articles/26_denny_pickjigsize.htm Quote
rubba bubba Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 It's interesting that in his Day on the Lake video he mentions he doesn't like long trailers. i.e. prefers the Rage Chunk over the longer Craw or Lobster. He wants the bass to be able to put the whole thing in it's mouth right away. Quote
NateFollmer Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 I swear Denny can't open his mouth without teaching you something. Denny and Greg Hackney are the guys you want to listen to when it comes to jig fishing! Great video! Quote
Five-Alive Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 For some reason the picture insn't opening for me however after being Denny's marshall for the Smith Mountain Lake elite tournament I can only say good things about him. Not only was he very nice, he told me everything he was doing, etc. As far as his tackle he was very loyal to his sponsors, he fished the ardent reels, american rodsmiths rods, strike king jigs, plastics, trailers, spinnerbaits, and a spit-n-king popper. when he opened a storage box for soft plastic for example rodents, there were like 2 or 3 colors and at least 100 of each, the same with the flippin tube, jig, etc. The only non strike king item I saw was a soft bodied swimbait which he had probably 2 dozen of them and of course he was wearing the strike king glasses as well and has a ranger with an evinrude.
