BassAssassins14 Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Very open questions what's the best casting rod for under 200$ Quote
Arv Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Best is subjective... A lot will depend on what your plan on fishing and in what conditions. I like the St. Croix Avid, Powell Endurance and Max, Phenix M1. Others that I would suggest looking into that I have not used are the Phenix Recon, Shimano Crucial and Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth. There are some really good deals in the fleamarket that I would check if I was you. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 8, 2013 Super User Posted December 8, 2013 I have been VERY impressed with the Pinnacle Perfecta DHC series rods. http://www.pinnaclefishing.com/shop/p-87-perfecta-dhc5.aspx#page=page-1 Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted December 8, 2013 Global Moderator Posted December 8, 2013 IMHO, Before you buy anything, do yourself a favor and check out the Phenix M1 line. If you're looking for a crank rod thier X series is as good as any. Mike Quote
TrapperJ Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Nothing beats checking them out and what feels best for you but I gotta say Gimme those ducketts son! Quote
brandonss Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 You can get any Ducketts but if you put 15 dollars more u can have top of the line duckett the white ice model they sell for right at 200 so with tax they be just a little over 200 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 9, 2013 Global Moderator Posted December 9, 2013 Ford V Chevy, it all depends on what you like in a rod. For $200 I'd go to a tackle store and handle as many of the rods as you can and pick one you like, bring the reel you're going to put on it if they'll let you so you can feel what it's going to feel like as a combo in your hand. I've fished very few $100-$200 rods that I couldn't have learned to live with. Quote

TAiken Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 · Hidden by Glenn, December 14, 2013 - No reason given Hidden by Glenn, December 14, 2013 - No reason given You can't go wrong with Denali Rods. They have 3 lines that fit that bill. The first is the Jadewood Series these run from $129 down to $99 depending on the length and action. The second is the Rosewood series again depending on the rod they run from $229 down to $189. The third and newest series is the Kovert Series they run from $149 down to $129. You wont be disappointed with any of these series. they Kovert series has modified micro guides and EVA handles. Hope this helps...
bassum1 Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 · Hidden by Glenn, December 14, 2013 - No reason given Hidden by Glenn, December 14, 2013 - No reason given I have to agree have been using Denali rods for 2 years and could not be happier. The Jadewood rods for the money are equal to most $160 rods. The kovert rods are good to if you want micro guides .Denali rods have their own tapered inserts for line guides that lock into stainless steel guide seats .I love these I have about 25 Denali rods of all models and I fish hard two or three days a week and never had a guide insert pop out. All other rods I have owned this happened sooner or later. The customer service is second to none. They contacted me on Thanksgiving when I had a problem. Go to tackle warehouse and read the customers reviews . These are not Pros trying to make money just good honest people . You will be impressed with what you read.
