Super User Hi Salenity Posted December 6, 2013 Super User Posted December 6, 2013 Cabin fever is costly once again. So about a month ago I got a new boat. 2005 186 Triton It needed a major upgrade in the electronics department so this is what I upgraded to Lowrance Elite5 in the new dash and a pair of side imaging HD Humminbirds on Ram mounts. 898 & 998 Before New dash Units mounted but I still need to wire them up Between learning all of the new units and the I Pilot it's going to be hard to find time to fish! Super User Wayne P. Posted December 9, 2013 Super User Posted December 9, 2013 The main initial setting is to learn how to use Simulator so you can practice with the unit settings before getting on the water. Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted December 11, 2013 Author Super User Posted December 11, 2013 Hey Wayne, do you have a 5 port? I know they have to be hooked up to power but do I need a switch to turn it on or off? Humminbird says the 5-port won't draw any current unless the units are turned on? It looks like to link a I pilot and 2 Humminbirds it's going to cost around $300! Quote

I don't use the Ethernet connection since I don't need to share any data or accessories. I will check about the need for a switch though. Quote
