Super User roadwarrior Posted December 5, 2013 Super User Posted December 5, 2013 The cold front is just arriving here in Memphis. Our issue for the next four days is ice. It is just raining right now, but our forcast is calling for up to 1/2" of ice mixed with snow starting tonight. Quote
Super User Nitrofreak Posted December 5, 2013 Super User Posted December 5, 2013 1/2 INCH ???? PHEW !! You all be safe and I hope you do not get what they are calling for . Quote

Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted December 5, 2013 Super User Posted December 5, 2013 Yall be careful up there. One nice thing about Alabama. Ice and snow are rare if ever. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted December 5, 2013 Super User Posted December 5, 2013 Yall be careful up there. One nice thing about Alabama. Ice and snow are rare if ever. That's part of the problem down there. This type of stuff is not built into local budgets so snow/ice removal becomes a VERY big deal. I have friends and family that live in TN and while I like to joke with them that an inch of snow shuts everything down, it's actually pretty accurate. They just dont typically have to deal with it and such, money is not allocated for it. 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 5, 2013 Super User Posted December 5, 2013 6" of ice and snow is a typical drive to work. Not even good enough excuse to be late for work, lol. BTW, it's 60 and overcast today. Feels like spring! 3 Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted December 5, 2013 Super User Posted December 5, 2013 We are part of the same weather event. Luckily for us, the freezing rain went about about 40 miles south of us. We will have snow only. It doesn't bring down tree branches. Give me 6" of snow instead 1/4" of ice any day. Quote
Brian Needham Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I suppose to leave for Fayetteville Sunday afternoon for corporate Christmas party.....its not looking promising. Mondays low is 7 and Tuesday is 11......thats cold even for this fat bearded fellow! good news it, it wont last long and afterwards the TN River should be rolling! Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 We have sleet and snow right now. The News is saying 4-7" of snow/sleet mix. Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 5, 2013 Super User Posted December 5, 2013 Stay home. The storm is hitting Richmond area on Sunday morning and we are going to decorate for Christmas. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted December 5, 2013 Super User Posted December 5, 2013 We had some freezing rain during the morning rush, but it didn't last long. It's not doing anyrhing now but the sky looks like it could start coming down any second. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 5, 2013 Super User Posted December 5, 2013 Typical drive to work: Quote
tholmes Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 We got a small amount of ice Tuesday morning and we're expecting light snow off and on for the next few days. Right now, it's 16 degrees with a windchill of 5. They're forecasting lows around 5 degrees for the next couple of nights, with sub-zero windchill. Too durn cold for me! Tom Quote
Super User Catt Posted December 5, 2013 Super User Posted December 5, 2013 Ice goes in your tea not on the ground! Y'all be safe out their 1 Quote
Super User tomustang Posted December 5, 2013 Super User Posted December 5, 2013 Already ran into this in Ohio last week, no one was ready. I counted 26 cars mangled up on the side if the highway. People need to drive with caution Quote

gr8outdoorz Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 The locals are crazy! Grocery stores are out of EVERYTHING. RW, I'll never understand why when snow/ice flurries are forcasted for here, people rush to the store to stock up like they will be trapped in the house for a month. Its insane! Quote
CayMar Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 It is feeling like spring here in Alabama also. 70 degrees at 11 o clock at night. We don't get snow or bad ice but it is usually alot cooler by this time of year. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted December 6, 2013 BassResource.com Administrator Posted December 6, 2013 Cloudy and dry here, but brrrrr cold! Mid teens at night, upper 20's by day. Gonna last a few more days, then warm up to normal winter weather - low 40's and rain! Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted December 6, 2013 Super User Posted December 6, 2013 We got about an inch of snow last night, but they are really getting hammered south of us. Quote

Siebert Outdoors Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 I woke up to about 5" of snow on the ground. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted December 6, 2013 BassResource.com Administrator Posted December 6, 2013 It's going to be 10 degrees tonight at my house. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted December 6, 2013 Super User Posted December 6, 2013 Got about 4" of snow today. Luckily no freezing rain. That went south of us. Brrr, it's cold! The temp never got above 22 today, and the forecast is for 2 degrees tonight. That's OK though, we'll just hunker down, and turn up the thermostat. Quote
