Hey guys,

Any suggestions for a student looking to get a foot in the door in the fishing industry? I'm a junior studying mechanical engineering living in the Boston area and just wondering if you guys have any suggestions on where I should be looking or talking to to try to get a co-op or internship. Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is something that I'm really looking to do as my career.

Attend a Bassmasters Classic and talk with the guys at each booth on how they got into the business and their thoughts on advancement, income, benefits, etc.

Do the same for the FLW classic, too.

Contact the major manufacturers and send them your resume. Shimano, Pure Fishing, Mercury, Bass Cat and others may have an opening.

Be ready to travel as a sales rep or hopefully use your major in their product research department.

Try to find out the name of the individual at each company you need to send your information so you can make it personal.

Good luck and all the best with your search efforts.
