I was doing some casting in the yard today and my hands got cold quick. I know that if I get water on my hands that they will be very cold. So I picked up a UA jacket today, also Ive got a Columbia Jacket coming in the mail. I should do fine, with my hunting boots/work boots. I'll pick up some head gear. But my main thing was do u guys where gloves out there???

White River fleece fingerless gloves from BPS work great for me. $5.99 a pair and very warm, not slippery when they get wet either. I usually carry a few pairs so if one gets wet I can switch it out. Pretty much the only gloves I wear even when it gets down in the teens some of the mornings I fish during the winter.

Check out ice fishing gloves too -- neoprene, which is not magic btw.  Your hands will still get cold, just not as fast.

Froze my thumb and first finger while out a week ago, so when I went out last Saturday I wore my insulated leather gloves.  Didn't seem to hurt casting distance by much.  No backlashes.  Did make more noise on the cast, tho.

Water on your fingers definitely makes them colder.

I use those too. I wear them all the time, especially during that cold drive into work in the morning. For $5 a crack they're a steal I think.
