Topwaterspook Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Alright ,folks, I need some help. Years ago I bought a small handful of hook sharpeners. They consist of a black and orange plastic handle which is relatively 2 1/2" square and roughly 3/8" thick. There are two sections of round file lying parallel in this handle. They work really well and are small and convenient. Over the years I've lost some given some away. I'd like to find some more but there is no name of any kind on them. Does anyone know who made these and if they're still available ? Thanks. Quote
Tom H. Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Go to anglers-choice. They have one that is very similar to the one your describing. I have the same type as you and this is the nearest thing to it I have found. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted December 1, 2013 Super User Posted December 1, 2013 Stitch google Rollie & Helen's tackle. Look under hook sharpeners. The medium is the one I think you want. Wood or plastic handle with U shaped round file parallel to each other Quote
Topwaterspook Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 Thanks Dwight. I happened to run across a you tube video yesterday. In it the fella took two round chain saw files and secured both ends with shrink tube. Then he dropped a little superglue in between the files on both ends and on both sides. It basically turned out like longer version of the ones I had. I'm going to check out Rollie and Helen's and see that one as well. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted December 2, 2013 Super User Posted December 2, 2013 Stitch here is the link. http://www.muskyshop.com/modules/cart/products.php/nav_id/8/page/1/id/1063/name/SmityHookSharpener The 113-670 medium is the one I like. It may be too big for you but will do hooks uo to 5/0 & still do the smaller ones. I have had mine for over ten years & love it. Quote
