Big Swimbait Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 The Biffle Bug is a very versatile bait. I've fished it T-rigged & as a jig trailer. But my best results are using it like Tommy Biffle does most of the time - like a crankbait. I always rig it on the BIffle Hardhead with the weight depending on the depth I need. As far as color, I like the Smoke Silver if they are feeding on Shad. If craws are the meal of the day, I like Sooner Run or Leach. Also the hollow body lets you add a rattle or a cotton ball soaked with your favorite scent. I've also dead sticked it with half an Alka Seltzer inside. Good Luck! 1 Quote

Dave P Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 On a hardhead and crawl it across the bottom like a slow moving crank. Sooner run is a good color to start out with and I like to run a rattle, too. The biggest fish I caught on it this year was only about 3.75 but he knocked the ever loving snot out of it. Quote

Super User iabass8 Posted November 29, 2013 Super User Posted November 29, 2013 I like the larger size in green pumpkin/red. i actually have really good luck on them fishing them on a large shakey head /w a big hook crawling it in and out of rocks. fish don't seem to just nip at this bait either. they just slam it. If wind & current are keeping me from staying on the bottom, I will use the 4/0 11/16. The 5" Bug is out now - I will have to experiment to see what works for me. It is my favorite of the wobble head jigs out there. I've used it as a shakey head with Trick Worms with good success. I also use it with a Super Fluke - looks like something feeding on the bottom. It also works well with the Larew Rattlin' Craw. Quote

Seems like I should be able to make some to fit pretty much any of my favorite plastics. The vertical action of the hook, IMO is better than others I have tried. The hook is very sharp & strong. As was posted earlier in this thread, the strikes are vicious, But I can say this is true with other plastics I have tried, so the Biffle Head action must contribute something to that. 1 Quote

That and the bait profile is the key. That hook is the real deal. I have lost two heads this year by burying that hook into something big and wooden that didn't move. 1 Quote
