speed craw Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 So yea every year I vow no more black friday rush . Yet here I am again in line for a kids bike at walmart around 300 women .... I have learned a few things these last few years waiting in line . One thing I had no clue women talk about the things they did while I was there . And also $ 20 ain't enough money for the 4 hrs assembling a barbie castle on christmas eve night to only have your little one look puzzled and ask you why you are covered in stickers. So anyone else in my boat ? Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted November 29, 2013 Super User Posted November 29, 2013 Nope, I wouldn't go fight that crowd if they were giving away things. I know people that are going to go in the morning to save $30 on some items. I would pay twice as much for something if I had to as opposed to go hang out with a bunch of idiots looking for a good deal. ***Not calling you an idiot, just saying from what I have seen on TV and heard from others, there are plenty of idiots out on black Friday. 2 Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted November 29, 2013 Super User Posted November 29, 2013 I went to get Call of Duty Ghost tonight at WalMart. I had planned on going alone, in the hopes of stirring the chaos. Well I was made to take my five year old with me. So that quelled my Holiday mayhem. However, we did see five sets of multi combatant fights. As well as blood splattered floors. Then to top it all off. My son asked me when we were going to "jump over the dead". I may have told my wife we were going to, "trample the weak and hurdle the dead". Didn't know he was listening to that part of the conversation. 1 Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted November 29, 2013 Super User Posted November 29, 2013 I went tonight because they had them Nabi tablets for kids on sale for 99 as opposed to 179. So I saved 80 bucks which was worth it to me in a sense but I will never do that again it was crazy in there. 1 Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted November 29, 2013 Super User Posted November 29, 2013 I went to Best Buy tonight to get a Galaxy S4 for free with my upgrade. They are $200 in AT&T stores. I was back at home an hour and a half after I walked out my door. It was well worth it to me. Quote

So I saved 80 bucks which was worth it to me in a sense but I will never do that again it was crazy in there. I paid full price for the Nabi a couple of weeks ago. After seeing the mayhem at WalMart from a distance I'm glad I didn't try to get in there. I despise normal size crowds. I know I would go insane in that mess. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted November 29, 2013 Super User Posted November 29, 2013 I got a wrist band early the rest the time I sat in the sporting goods section there was no crowd there no sales. Quote

Super User Sam Posted November 29, 2013 Super User Posted November 29, 2013 I drove 20 miles to hit the Richmond/Ashland BPS around 6:30 this AM for jeans and got two pair for myself (only three were left in my size) and waited over an hour in line to pay the $21.00. Am I nuts or what? Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 30, 2013 Global Moderator Posted November 30, 2013 Never been Black Friday shopping, hope never to have to. I really hate what it all stands for and I really don't think I could keep walking the tight rope of sanity I'm balanced on around all those idiots. Quote

The more insane and rude ones I just pinned against the shelves or shoved out of my way. You don't block an aisle and then pop off at the mouth to people. Especially not a 300lb bearded behemoth wearing boots and a blackvtank top, and walking an adoreable 5 year old boy with him. Most everyone just stepped out of my way. My son and I even helped two families acquire their stuff so they could get out of the store faster. Quote
cajunpapi Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 THATS WHAT AMAZON AND TACKLE WAREHOUSE ARE FOR. WHERE YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GO THRU THINGS LIKE THAT. I HATE SHOPPING OR WHAT EVER THEY CALL IT. Quote

With all that excitement, doesn't Call of Duty Ghost seem pretty tame? Here's an idea for you. Create a game about the Black Friday madness. You can make it as violent and bloody as you want and it would still be reality, not just realistic. To make it even more profitable, you can copy the Madden football series, or the NASCAR racing games, and come out with a new version every year. Raider's Black Friday at Walmart has a nice ring to it. Raider's Black Friday at Walmart 2014, Raider's Black Friday at Walmart 2015. Heck, you'll be able to retire before you know it. Quote
