Want to wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday!

So how many of you on here are in charge of cooking duties?  This year its my turn to cook the turkey(s) and of course I choose fried.  Last night I injected a 12 pound bird with a crazy concoction of Fat Tire Ale, melted butter, cracked pepper and sea salt.  The second fryer turkey I injected with Mojo marinade.  Can't wait to fry them up!  I have backup in case I mess up.....its called Honey Baked!  Happy cooking!

Ok seriously, my stomach just growled when I read your description!  Sounds great!

Hope everyone has a safe and fun Thanksgiving!

South Fla you like that Fat Tire? A friend of mine brought over a box of different microbrews and I couldn't drink any of them except the Fat Tire. That stuff is pretty good. I'm not doing any cooking this year, only eating. Happy Thanksgiving.

I guess there will not be any left by the time I get down there. Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all! This year me and my fiance' are combining a Thanksgiving meal with that of our childhoods.

She's going to roast a chicken and I'm going to roast some Stump Sound (fresh, my brother delivered yesterday) oysters.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Turkey is in the oven full of cornbread giblet stuffing.  Made two pumpkin pies, Tuesday.  One is gone by now.  The cranberries are cooked and the green bean casserole and candied yams will be fixed in a couple of hours.

I have the greatest wife.  She cleans up all the messes I make in the kitchen.

I know what you mean, most of the micro brewery stuff in my opinion doesn't pass the taste test, but I really like Fat Tire, good beer!

Happy Thanksgiving, all!

At my house, one traditional roasted turkey and one smoked (with apple wood)  on the Traeger grill.

Right now, the house smells of roast turkey, smoked turkey, dressing and pecan pie. We're expecting the crowd ( around 20 people) to start arriving anytime.

Happy TG, y'all. 36 family members together (not everyone, either) this afternoon. Both smoked and oven cooked turkey, but I had the smoked.

Football time.

Happy Turkey Day!

Last night I put the bird into a brine concoction and let it soak over night.    This was a first for me.  When I read what Redline Robert said about a brine-soaked turkey in an earlier thread, I just had to give it a try.

This morning I put the bird on the Weber over indirect heat and smoked it with Mesquite.  My wife and daughter said it was delicious.  I had to agree.  I couldn't believe how moist it was.

Thanks, Robert!

Brining a turkey is key.  Haven't smoked one yet but now i just might have to.  How long did it take and how big of a bird?

There were only three of us enjoying the meal, so the wife bought the smallest turkey I had ever seen - 8.8 lbs.  It took less than two hours to cook.

Happy late Thanksgiving to everyone! No turkey here, the wife is under strict orders by her doctor to do as little as possible to stress her out right now, so we stayed home and relaxed. I made a hashbrown casserole, some green bean casserole, and a caramel apple pie though so we didn't go hungry :)

This Thanksgiving was extra special being as it was the first night of Chanukah as well.  This will not happen again until the year 2070, the catch phrase has been Thanksgivukah.

We went up to Jupiter and had a marvelous dinner that included dishes representing both holidays.

My wife is Jewish so we did the same thing here!
