dipping that is. Flushed it all down the toilet tonight on my own accord. It's time. Tough days ahead, but I am sick of it. I'll keep a running progress report of how it's going, and hopefully it will help me, and inspire others. It's been over 3 years since I have gone for any length of time without it. I have had semi-successful "quits" before, but foolishly regressed, some after very long tperiods of a couple years off the stuff. I can't be doing that anymore.

Try Chantix, it might help ya. I've been smoke free for 1 1/2yrs now and can't stand smoke anymore. Former smoker of 18 years.

Way to go ~ and it's about time.

It will be tough sledding at first but after 3 weeks or so you'll start to feel a little better.

Either way,  that's the path you chose so grab your shirt Nancy and Man up !

And I'm not going to wish you Good Luck either because you don't need Luck.

What you need you already have, a strong mind; So use it.

And your metabolism is going to slow down too, so watch what you eat.

I've quit doing a lot of unhealthy and destructive things over the years, none of them harder than tobacco. Like Slone cigarettes was my delivery system of choice, and like you I quit several times for long periods before I finally was ready. Thankfully it's been a long time since I have had the desire...good luck.

Great decision !!!!!!!!    I haven't used any tobacco products for over 25 years but I do remember how tough it was to quit. In my case snuff was the hardest to get away  from. It was a contributing factor in my cancer. Stay strong and be diligent.

Finally after several years I could care less about dipping. I truely enjoyed it....now I truely enjoy the extra energy and not having to rely on tobacco to start the day.

P.S. Dang it was tough to quit....Nicorettes and real gum helped....good luck

Good job, that quitting tobacco.  I, too, was smoking 3 packs a day.  Had been smoking for 25 years.  It's been about 30 years since I quit.

I finally convinced myself that I really WANTED to quit.  I also put it in my mind that I had to make the physical effort of picking up the pack, taking a "cig" out of the package, put it in my mouth, light it,  Now just don't do that anymore.  Just do not perform that series of movements.  The tobacco will not make it to your mouth on its own.  I know, sounds silly, but it works

Almost 2 full days, and I am hanging in there. My head feels like it weighs a 1000 lbs, and I am in a fog, but I will make it. I refuse to regress.

Start of day 3, and I feel 100 times better than I did yesterday, I slept like a baby last night too. I still have that "foggy" feeling in my head, but the headache is gone. So far I am keeping the cravings at bay by keeping busy, and chewing gum. My house hasn't been this clean in years LOL.

Hang in there bother.

I didn't have to much trouble quitting dipping but it was only because I also smoked three packs a day.

Three packs a day for 23 years. It's time to quit! I'm just trying to get my mind rite. Yea yea I no it ain't never been rite. Lol

Ughhhhhh, the first day back at work since I stopped, and it's way more brutal than I thought. I want to punch everyone in the face...... Deep breath time. I will not give up or give in... But this day can end anytime now.

Good job dude. When in Afghanistan I'd crush a log of Skoal straight cut like every three days, just remember the benefits of quitting as your motivation. Good luck!
