Chris186 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Anyone have any good recommendations for a double duty rod? I picked up a 3 wire alabama rig, and I recently started fishing frogs a little more. I wont be fishing each a whole lot, so Im looking for a rod that will serve the purpose for both. I would like to stay under $150. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Quote
Grantman83 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Dobyns savvy 735c with discount would work. Or a veritas 7'6 mh for about 100.... Quote
livetofish28 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 If you can deal with the length the St Croix swimbait rod will be an excellent choice I frog, flip and pitch A-rig and other various techniques that need a long rod and heavy action. You can get it brand new for about a 130 probably cheaper on the TW Black Friday sale Tight lines Andrew Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted November 26, 2013 BassResource.com Administrator Posted November 26, 2013 Might get a better deal at this Black Friday deal: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/127595-black-friday-sale-starts-wednesday-at-valley-sports/ 1 Quote

Super User J Francho Posted November 26, 2013 Super User Posted November 26, 2013 I generally use my heavy cover flipping stick for both - triple duty! Quote
KevO Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Powell 795 A Rig rod is a good dual purpose rod. I think it's actually better for the frog than the Rig though. The 775 endurance is a much better A rig rod. Quote
Virtuoso Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 The black wild XXH carrot stick.Beast for frogs and a rigs. Cheap too. Don't need to feel it like an expensive dobyns Quote
