Repost as a reminder that our 20% off sale starts Thursday (Thanksgiving) and runs through Sunday night.  (Original thread lost in the crash)

Bass Resource members: list your login name with your order and I'll throw in a free "Hawg Tech" Sticker.  These things are big and beefy...just like the fish you're gonna catch with your new bearings/handles from Hawg Tech.

Sounds good!

For those interested, I am extending the "Black Friday" special to start now for bearings.  If interested, just send me an email at support@hawgtech.com.  Ask for the Bass Resource 20% off "Early Black Friday" deal on bearings.

I will need to wait until Thursday on offering the handles for 20% off...as we need time to prepare inventory.

Thanks!

Order placed!

Order received - 1 swept handle and some bearings.  Warp 9 shipping, great packaging. Finally installed the handle today; the bearings I won't be playing with until the spring.

The handle went on a Calais 200DC - super quality on the handle, perfect fit (once I figured out which way the spacer was supposed to go...).  This was a two-fer upgrade. The Hawgtech handle on the 200DC, and the long(er) handle from the 200DC (which also has bigger knobs) moved over to a Calais 100A to replace its absurdly short 74mm stock handle with small knobs.

Thanks guys - happy camper here...

Very nice Goose. I just spoke to Robert & Mike about the same application today.

Dwight - do you mean the 200DC or the 100A ???

That swept handle looks sweet. All my reels already have the original Hawgtech handle. Guess I need to buy some more reels

Finally got a chance to put my new Hawgtech handle on a reel (I bought it for a major upgrade project, which is still waiting on one small but crucial part). I swapped it temporarily onto a Citica 100D, which has two brass bushings under each handle knob. The difference was night and day. The retrieve is so much smoother with the Hawg handle that it's not even funny. That handle will eventually be going on another reel, the Citica 201E for which I bought it, but I'll definitely be getting a Hawg handle for my Citica D as well.

One thing I did find was that it works best to mount the handle nut upside-down. Otherwise it's tricky to fit a wrench inside the Hawg handle's cutout to fully tighten the nut.

Now that's a classic case of bait (reel) monkey logic...

A 10mm socket will work if it doesn't have too thick of walls - my Craftsman 10mm socket worked perfect, both to remove the Shimano nut and tighten the Hawg nut.

I've been using a 10mm wrench, hadn't tried a socket—I'd have to get it from the garage, and it's 4ºF outside right now.  My motivation to go outside is very low.

Should have thought of that.  Thanks for the tip.

Got mine for my Chronarch 50e! Installed it as soon as I had a free moment. Went fishing the next day. Nice to have a slightly faster retrieve now over the stock handle, not that is is much, but it was around 28-29" after the swept handle install in a non-scientific test.

While I had nary a bite that day, the retrieve was just fine. Think I'll be able to give a better opinion when the bass here are going after what I'm throwin'...
