jchez444 Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Seeing opinions on the roboworm vs the finicky tickler on the shakyhead. Has one compared these two baits Quote
MacP Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 I have. Roboworm is the best bait in that category. They are also the best drop shot bait. The only other WORMS I put on a shakeyhead are Zoom Trick Worms and Zoom Finesse worms. Quote
CPBassFishing Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 They're two completely different baits. Its actually funny how two little worms can be so different. For an extremely tough bite I will throw the robo purely because of its softness, but if I'm on a hot bit I throw the tickle because it is LITERALLY ten times as durable as a robo. On a shaky head, it will last 10+ fish, where as a robo will last two before it starts to twist off the spring from the hole being widened. Its pretty much a confidence thing. I feel stupid for liking the robos more because they are less durable, but the colors flat-out slay. I'd say the ticklers are a better value because they last longer. You also get the aded benefit from the hog tonic. Quote
ClackerBuzz Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 yup CPBass said it. i've lost roboworms to casting. tore up before i even caught a fish. that's what i call a disappointing product. i don't buy them anymore b/c there are too many other options on the market. Quote
Super User Teal Posted November 23, 2013 Super User Posted November 23, 2013 Robo worms are legit, they are not durable tho. I agree with CP, i use the not so durable but great action baits generally but when the bite gets hot I throw the zoom worm if I can get away with it.... The Jackall Flick shake is in same category as robo for me, great worm, mot durable at all.. Quote
Hanover_Yakker Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Tickler hands down. Not only is it durable, it is also neutrally bouyant plus the profile is a little different from everyone else's offerings. Quote
JeziHogg Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Roboworms are great, but like stated they sent durable, I have also lots them while casting. I only use them when verticle drop shotting. Quote
Super User WRB Posted November 23, 2013 Super User Posted November 23, 2013 Hand poured worms are usually soft and Roboworms are a robotic hand pour, so it's soft yet consistant in coloration like an injection molded high production worm. The choice between catching bass consistantly verses saving worms that are more durable and less expensive is always a choice to make. My vote is to catch bass and Roboworms do that consistantly. Hanover_Yakker Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 All I can say is that 4" roboworms catch small fish in my neck of the woods. Throw on a 7" tickler and you better hold on Quote
