CPBassFishing Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Craziness. The 8" hudd wasn't getting anything but headbutts so I changed it up and went with a 3:16 baby wake. Bombed it across a shallow sand point and the fish hit sucked it down on the deadstick after slowly waking it up to the point. Just a little 2lber but it felt good to stick a swimbait fish with 40 degree air temp and 47 degree water, especially on a topwater bait! Okuma GS 7' 11" XH Shimano Caenan 20lb Trilene XT 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 18, 2013 Global Moderator Posted November 18, 2013 Nice job man! I missed a few on a S-Waver a week ago fishing it slowly just below the surface. Might have to toss a Slammer at them if I make it back to that lake this week Quote
mnbassman23 Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Nice job man! Last year in mid December with water temps at 36 degrees we caught some fish on 4" wake baits after going through almost every other bait we owned. They wouldn't hit much of anything else, but would suck down that wakebait. Sometimes the fish go against common logic. Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted November 23, 2013 Super User Posted November 23, 2013 Nice fish. I see the 3:16 lure page on my Instagram and I am going to be asking Santa, my girlfriend, for a few for Christmas lol Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted November 23, 2013 Super User Posted November 23, 2013 Topwater will still work for a while Last year i caught a bass in 42 degree water on a buzz bait no less. I was having a crappy day and saw something causing a commotion. I threw a buzz bait over (that is all i had for a topwater) and proceeded to catch about 4 pickerel. I figured what the hell and kept throwing it and was treated to a bass about 2lbs. Oh, and nice fish Quote

You can find plenty of them on swimbait site forums or fleabay. Prices are almost always inflated though. Good luck on your search Quote
