Mixing Plastics For Color

I had some Brush Hogs in junebug and some Baby Brush Hogs in pumpkin and I accidentally mixed them together.

The Baby Brush Hogs turned into this mixture of light purple and pumpkin.

The color looks really good and it produced for me pretty well.

I might start to do this on purpose now.

Anyone else ever put different plastics in the same bag?

Did the final color produce for you?

ive ended up with some nifty colors by doing that. i keep a bag of used plastics that ill re-use untill they either get thrown or are no longer fishable. sometimes the new color produced , sometimes it didnt.

I keep a large sandwich bag in the dry box on the front deck of my boat - after an outing, I gather up all the plastics laying around and put them in there and then grab that when I go bank fishing.  Sometimes the colors run together and make some real funky lures.  But they still work and will occasionally catch me a biggun.

i wasn't trying to blend any colors when...... i put a couple pearl swim senkos in bag with a couple red shad zoom u-tails when i was bank fishing. the color looked pretty good.  dark red patches that looked like blood on the pearl.  looked like a bleeding swim senko... 

and i've had some luck with them.

Yep accidentally put some junebug trick worms in with some bubble gum trick worms after an outing and the bubble gum trick worms had some really nice lookin stripes on them afterwords.

I put some red and black YUM HawgTails in with my green Rage Craws and ended up with a Rage Craw with red claws... Works better that way

I keep a 1-gallon ziplock bag just for this purpose. Once i'm done with a plastic it goes in this bag. About a week later I get crazy colors, which some produce, some dont. Sorta like the bass fishing lottery

Red shad will bleed faster than any other color too.

Do they mix faster in the sun, or does it matter?

Hey Nate, That's what I use the New Red JJ's for  been using it since they came out with it. Don't let a drop get on your carpet though, it won't come out  :

Tha Falcon Lake Rage Craw has Red in it and I'm extremely happy with it too

Hey Nate, That's what I use the New Red JJ's for been using it since they came out with it. Don't let a drop get on your carpet though, it won't come out :
