I thought Scrounga was its proper name....

Of course it is, but someone not knowing would search a while looking for a "Scrounga" bait!

Man, once our son gets here and we get used to having a baby in the house and our schedules figured out I'm going to start saving to make one of these trips. Sounds like you guys are having a blast every time!

It is a blast. I have always measured a fishery by my personal continuing success while fishing it. When each trip brings new pb's, more quality fish caught and maybe even bigger fish lost it keeps your enthusiasm high. Lake Athabasca in northern Saskatchewan, Lake Erie PA & Lake Baccarac Mexico all come to mind for me. Always more pluses than minuses from each subsequent trip keeps you looking forward with greater anticipation than the last trip. Getting to share the experience with guys you truly like & respect is just icing on the cake.

As promised, I've attached a brief video narrative where I talk about the rods, baits, line and terminal tackle we utilized last week in Mexico.

Great video.  Explains everything well.  The rods I had were Carbonlite H/XF rods.  They were given to the guides, and I will be bringing mh/f rods like I recommend this time.  The first 2 times I had mh/f rods and they worked great.  Better believe I will have them back next trip!

Congratulations on the HUGE fish you guys caught down there!

A-Jay,

I love the videos.  You should be required to have a video camera strapped to you at all times while you fish.  I just love watching your videos.  Also, congratulations on the 11 lb. 11 ounce Horse.  A 10 pound largemouth is one thing, but when you start getting into the 11 pound+ category, you become an instant all-star!

Dwight,

Big Congratulations to you on entering the double digit Largemouth Club.  I just have one question, which club is left?  You are in the 7 Pound Smallmouth Club, the 50 inch Musky Club, the 30 pound Northern Pike Club.  I mean seriously, you are running out of clubs ;-)    Great work, Buddy!

Scrouger with a white fluke!

Jeff

Have you guys ever tried a chatterbait down there? Either with a skirt or with the fluke like you rig the scrounger? Or both I suppose? I would be more than willing to supply a couple chatterbaits built on a 1/2 or 3/4 ounce football head to try down there. Seems like that would work great if a scrounger head works well also.
