RoachDad Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Hey friends, My wife and I are going to south Florida in January. I want to take at least a half day trip to okechobee and try to catch a monster. So, please inform me of any guide services that are good or bad. I will interview the guide but here is what I need. Not a redneck. Not a comedian. My wife is not a fisherman and I want someone patient. No sarcasm. Just help us go fishing. thanks Quote

gar-tracker Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Those guys are pretty much better in the Glades. If your going to Clewiston Steve Daniels If your going to Okeechobee Buck Derance or Larry Wright All of these guys are from a Southern heritage I dont know what you mean by no rednecks? They have experiance in bringing all age and genders fishing so they're are patient . And they are seriouse about putting you on fish. Quote

It's not like you have a job or anything to take up your time. And you spend more time on the north end of the lake than anyone I know. Quote
gar-tracker Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 When I was looking for my house I met a guy in Okeechobee he was a retired Fireman and was about 10 years ahead of me at the time, he had a place up there and loved to fish tournaments. He told me two years prior he started guiding, he said it became a full time job and caused him to lose interest in fishing. He said if you move here like I did dont start guiding, it'll ruin tournament fishing, that always stayed in my mind. Iv done it in the Glades and up at the lake a few fill in trips it makes for a long day dunking shiners listeining to people talk about stuff you dont care about. Who knows maybe one day, never say never. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted November 17, 2013 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted November 17, 2013 I do a couple of trips a year on Kissimmee and do not do shiner trips. Artificial only. I only take out experienced fishermen who are down here on vacation and sick of the Mouse and need to get away for a day. Quote
