CPBassFishing Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Ice fishermen: how does your line not get abraded and cut on the edges of the ice hole when you are fighing a fish? Quote
Super User slonezp Posted November 14, 2013 Super User Posted November 14, 2013 I don't ice fish but I know Fireline Crystal is the line of choice for the hard water guys around here. It's designed for ice fishing Quote
tipptruck1 Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I also don't ice fish. Up this way braid is popular. Has been for years. I don't care it its a tip up, or a jigging rod. It always gets used. Quote
5dollarsplash Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Most guys I know are tip up users including myself. Now (watch it happen now after saying this) I've never noticed an issue, but I do cut and retie after every fish when ice fishing. I think the water freezing rapidly helps eliminate sharp edges.
