I sent some of the manufacturers of fishing equipment an email  asking for some decals for my tackle boxes,

Jeep and my boat(purchase in the spring). It's free advertisement for them. I could put them with the resource decals I already have on my jeep.   I received one, "1" lonely decal from some. The Plano company was the first one to respond with a few decals. That's really great since I use nothing but Plano tackle boxes and storage boxes too. I have over 17 Plano tackle boxes full of tackle. I received "1" only "one" YUM decal. I figured by having decals I'm giving back to the manufacturers for my awesome time fishing while using there products. I wish there was an assortment of decals we could purchase. My resource decals look awesome. Even Mr Barone of tackle the storm thought so too. I figure if I get one young fisherman per outing to come to this site our decals are working.

Decals are still items they have to budget out for the year.  They don't get them made for free.  Some decals can be pennies, and some can be dollars depending on the quality of decals they're offering. Either way, the bulk of decals is going to go to fishermen fishing tournament trails before Jon Doe from BassResource.com. Like Tom said, you already purchased what they want so they could care less if your car/boat/equipment is decorated with their logos.  They have 100's of guys on tournament trails already doing so with maximum exposure that they want.

Some of the bigger companies do offer decals for purchase, some don't.

I'm not sure exactly what I have, but send me a PM with your mailing address and I will send

them all to you. Also, I would send an e-mail to all of our sponsors noting you are an active

member at BassResource.com and request a decal. They have NO OBLIGATION to send

you anything, but I suspect some of them will.

I have a variety of hats you can have, too. If you have a particular brand in mind, I might have

it for you. Some are brand new (never worn), others are used. So, if you only want new or nearly

new, specify that, too.

Thanks for the advice.  Bill

A lot of the bigger brands have the budget for decals, like already stated. Most printing/design companies require thousands in each order, so small businesses are a bit more handcuffed with the expense unless they have it budgeted.

The best thing is to just send a friendly email/phone call and ask if they have decals available for your truck and boat. Some may charge and others will be happy to ship them off.

If you can make it the next Bass Masters classic expo........that is a great place to pick up some stickers!

Like others have stated its a money thing. I know as a small business my decales cost me 90c each last time i got a qoute. And add the postage which is 35c there's $1.25. But like also stated above they budget for it, at least I do.

Ive run into the same problem with one of my partnered companies. I asked every week for a 2 months if they could send me a couple of stickers to put on my boat and truck even getting the responce of they will go in the mail tomoroow. But they never show up. It comes down to what is more important for them as a company and that is profit. For a companie like i am tlkaing about its more important for them to stay afloat to make that $100 profit than sticking a couple of decaels in the mai.

Couple things:

I figured by having decals I'm giving back to the manufacturers for my awesome time fishing while using there products.

You are expecting stickers/decals for free and consider that "giving back" to a company? That would be them "giving back" to you.

My resource decals look awesome.

Were these decals gifted to you or did you purchase them from BR?

Bill, I enjoy your posts but I'm not so big on this one honestly. Go read through the Resume Section of this website. This type of thing is akin to much of the stuff that gets ripped apart in that section. You asked for a sticker and some companies sent you "only one?"  Not very gracious, IMO.

I get most of my free stuff when i order directly from the manufacturer. Send them a nice email about ordering some stuff ask for a catalog which some still use and there is a good chance you willl get something

I e-mailed a certain company about using their fluoro line, and how much I liked it, and requested a catalog. They sent me a catalog, 2 bulk spools of the exact size line I use, several decals, and a hat. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised.

From my ATV days every time you ordered something you got a hand full of stickers.

I can see the smaller company's wouldn't spring for them. But you no the rod/ reel company's can afford them.

Heck I'd pay for the bigger ones. Wonder why you don't see them for sell in mags. Like you could for ATV,s.

My step father used to be a boat salesmen. Man I wish he'd go back to it. Hydra Sport and a couple others used give away jackets. Hydra Sport supplied the salesmen family with jackets. And I mean nice ones to.

I get way more stickers from tackle shops than I do companies who make products.   You generally have to place a decent order to get them though.

I order a lot of gear directly from the manufacturer and get tons of stuff along with my order.  Earlier this year I was looking for a new braid that was demo'd at the road trip.  I could not find it.  So I emailed the company to try to find a retailer in my area.  Instead of sending me to a retailer, they sent me a 500 yd spool, stickers and a hat.  When you show interest in a product and communicate with a company that's when they send you free stuff.

Requesting free stickers is not communication.

I bet if you emailed the same companies and offered to pay for the stickers, they would give you more than you want.  Just my .02
