airborne_angler Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 So lately I have been fishing Dropshot, nothing but. Fall is upon us and the night temps are getting down to the mid 50's mostly in the 60's though. The daytime temps are still in the high 80's to low 90's Anyone fish a dropshot year round with success. A few years ago I couldnt stop throwing a Senko. Now I cant stop throwing a DS. With temps dropping at night and the fish migrating, will a DS still be effective through this transition period? Quote
gobig Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 I almost never fish with out tossing out a dropshot at least once. It is in my opinion one of the most effective fish catching techniques out there. Quote
DBatey Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 its a great winter technique so if you have done well all year so far then it sounds like you'll be fine to keep fishing it. Quote
aarogb Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 IMO, a dropshot is effective no matter what season. I have caught pretty good numbers of fish in all seasons with it. Theres something about that suspending small bait that bass can't resist. Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted October 11, 2010 BassResource.com Administrator Posted October 11, 2010 I use it year 'round along side a splitshot rig. Quote
BossHoss Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 I caught 5 today in about a hour with the exact same weather conditions your talking about... so yea I would say it is still working. Quote
