Lakes Around The Richmond Area

just got a new jon boat with a trolling motor looking for some lakes or ponds has to have a boat ramp cause its a 15 foot v shaped front jon boat with a trolling motor etc. just let me no if you no of any good lakes or ponds thanks.

Not in the City of Richmond.

 

Hit Amelia Lake. Great place for a Jon boat. PM me if you can't find it on Google or Bing.

 

The Powhatan County lakes should be OK for trolling motors. There are at least five I can think of in that County.

 

Hit Sandy Creek if you want to drive about 50 miles out 460 towards Lynchburg. Great big lake for trolling motors, only.

 

Diascund in Toano is also a great trolling motor lake. About 50 miles towards Williamsburg.

 

If you get the 2013 or 2014 Freshwater Fishing in Virginia booklet at BPS, Tackle Express, Wal-Mark, Peckers or Green Top you can find all of the places that will allow you to use your Jon boat with a trolling motor.

 

Always remember to wear your PDF when on the water, even if it is a nice day.

And don't forget Bear Creek Lake State Park way out Route 60. Nice place to fish with a Jon boat.

Like Sam said, Amelia, Powhatan Lakes,Bear Creek, Sandy,Briery Creek and Nottoway lake. On the other side of town you got Diascunds, Waller mill, little Creek, Chick Lake to name a few.
