SoutherFishin Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 What is the best all around bank bait? I have had a lot of success with senko's and trickworms but does anyone else have some ideas? Quote
jly Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 I was going to say senkos, b/c they do catch a lot of fish in many situations, but since you took that off the table I would have to recommend a spinner bait. they are great b/c they can be fished shallow or deep, fast or slow and they go through weeds great. the next best option for general all around use would be a swim jig. good luck Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted November 10, 2013 Super User Posted November 10, 2013 senko 3/16 give or take up or down weight +texas rig beaver and a 7" worm spinnerbait swim jig frog Quote
pbizzle Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Smaller spinnerbaits, senkos, Texas rigs, squarebills, frogs, flukes, etc. Almost everything works, and pond fishing is some of the most fun that you can have fishing. All of the cover is relatively close to you so you never have to go searching for the fish. Remember not to overfish the pond though! Quote
Arv Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 senko's, texas rigs, jigs, squarebills and lipless crankbaits. Quote
ClackerBuzz Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 keep using whatever lure you caught hawgzilla with in ur pix 2 Quote
Hattrick7 Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 I've caught bass on square bills, drop shots, spinnerbaits, swim jigs, and senkos. I wouldn't limit yourself to just one or two. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted November 10, 2013 Super User Posted November 10, 2013 Depends on the season, the type of water you fish and the target species (LM or SM). Senkos would be right up there for sure. Try the 7" size, texas rigged. Do not forget topwaters! Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted November 10, 2013 Super User Posted November 10, 2013 Frogs, flukes, stickworm, and centipedes. Quote
Super User Sam Posted November 10, 2013 Super User Posted November 10, 2013 It depends on the time of year, water clarity, water temperature, structure in the water, water depth, time of day, weather patterns, etc. And before selecting your baits think of the best presentations for your pond. Shaky head, drop shot, Texas rigs, Carolina rigs, weightless plastics, topwaters, frogs, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, live minnows, live Nightcrawlers, jigs, and the list goes on. Then know the water clarity to select your colors. Try as many presentations with different baits as you can. Sooner or later you will find the pattern for the day or time of the day and have a lot of fun. There is no magic bullet in bass fishing. Some guys luck out and find the fish and the best pattern while others waste their time as they did not do their homework or continue expanding their knowledge of bass fishing. Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted November 10, 2013 Super User Posted November 10, 2013 Whatever the fish are biting you just need to figure it out Quote
Super User Marty Posted November 11, 2013 Super User Posted November 11, 2013 What is the best all around bank bait? I have had a lot of success with senko's and trickworms but does anyone else have some ideas? There is no best. Just about every type of lure will work. Just match your lure to the conditions and you can catch them on anything if you're fishing where the fish are. Quote

DogmanRich Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Ponds are great, I always try entire box, but mostly during morning pre dawn, dawn, poppers and topwater. I miss having a pond in my backyard loaded with 5pounders them were the days Quote
