Catch more than rapalas? ... Yes. Do they catch more than pointers and other quality jerkbaits probably not in my experience. Some claim that at times only certain jerkbaits will get bit while others simply won't. What I feel megabass provides is a realistic profile and color scheme, great casting distance and accuracy, a bait that suspends and has the right amount of roll to trigger bites, and a wide array of color choices. The only downside is price and the finish can be scratched just by the hooks rubbing up against the body of the bait. Some have reported the bills can crack easily but I haven't had that issue yet.

They are good baits for sure, and very productive, but 9/10 times I can be just as successful throwing a LC pointer. If you can afford a few give them a try and see how they compare to others baits you have fished.

Personally, I dig their topwater offerings a bit more...

I'll give them a shot...  just one or the family will look em up and knock me up side the head.    Some people dont have the bass fishing addiction lol...   Rapala has gotten cheap in their quality.   still a buyer but Imma look at better stuff.   the rto 2.0 look good and better price,  I hear alot of great stuff about lucky craft  just been too loyal to Rapala.

I think they're worth the money. I've caught fish on a megabass when a pointer or an ima flit won't get bit or any other jerkbait for that matter. The hooks are very nice as well and I've never had experience with bills on the bait breaking. Even my megabass knuckles and buzz baits seem to produce better than other baits at most times

IDK, and I will never find out. With the amount of pike around here, I would be better off taking $25 out of my wallet and throwing it in the lake. I'll stick to the cheap stuff. I catch lots of fish on it.

I fish jerkbaits a lot, and a pointer 78 has got to be my favorite. I've only used/bought 2 megabass lures, 2 vision 110s. Personally I catch about the same amount of fish on either. Although I do prefer the pointer, just because it is cheaper and I don't feel as bad if I lose one, especially since I fish from the shore so a lot of the time its snagged I'm not getting it back...

I'm guessing with the lakes around here and being on shore, your lures encounter trees a lot? I haven't lost any megabass yet but then I'm always on a boat and have a lure retriever if I snag one.

If you're the type of person who gets upset when they lose a lure or won't fish a lure in the best spots for fear of hanging up, Megabass (or any other high end baits) aren't for you.  You need to be able and willing to fish an expensive bait in the same cover you would fish a cheap bait, otherwise the bait is hurting you and you aren't going to catch as many fish.  Plus, if losing a $20 lure is going to ruin your day, what's the point?

Its actually not that bad. I probably lose three jerkbaits on average each season. Most of my fishing is done at Eastman so there isn't much trees to get caught on haha. Although I have had to go swim for a hudd once.

I personally don't mind losing expensive lures. The way I see it is all the money I spend on fishing is my left over money so losing a $25 lure isn't that bad either when I'm having fun.

I don't enjoy losing expensive lures, but I understand it's part of the risk of using them. What I can't stand for is a $25 bait that mysteriously cracks or breaks, something that Megabass baits, especially the Vision 110, is infamous for. Personally, I'll take 3 STX Stick knockoffs for the price of 1 Vision 110 any day.

No they aren't worth the money.

They are more of and have always been at their best at catching anglers - not just fish.

If you wish to spend money on 4 new lures instead of a new rod then so be it.

They are works of art and quality but don't think they up the numbers of catches to warrant the price. Check out the luck e strike or the xcalibur jerk baits very similar and a third of the price.

I refuse to get into the high tech lure stuff... Just something that really is quality not just a name... Some of the new stuff ive seen are almost too nice to fish with lol. Robot lures

I wouldn't say that, I've had days where an albino shad X-Rap was getting bites and the Megabass vision 110 didn't get a sniff, the same thing with Pointers also. I'm a jerkbait fanatic and I own both Lucky Craft pointers and Megabass vision 110s as well as Smithwick Rogues, Storm Twitch Sticks, Rapala X-Raps and I can tell you all have a time and place. Megabass Vision 110 is one of those baits that when it is on, nothing can touch it, but when it isn't, nothing will hit it, they work with more active fish but the hi-float vision 110 was the only floating model jerkbait I ever caught a fish on in sub 50 degree water. To have a blanket statement that Megabass will catch more fish than a Rapala just isn't the case, and I fish with guys that will say that to justify their purchase when the truth is you don't need to, if you like that bait then so be t regardless of cost. What was really bad was last spring when I was learning the Storm Twitch Stick and I was cleaning my buddy's clock and he was using a Pointer 100, then a 78, then he switched colors but I just kept catching fish. That day the water temp was 47 degrees, a week earlier when the water was 43 degrees, nothing could touch the Pointer, they just suspend better than any other suspending bait out there in cold water.

With all do respect, I guess it is a matter of to each his own. I really don't fish rapala jerkbaits anymore. Their success or lack there of, is awful after trying hard to make them work at various times in the year. I too, am a big jerkbait fantatic but pointer variations work better than just about anybait I have fished. Their color selection, size, and action is very impressive and provides me a sort of one stop shop for my jerkbait needs. I have my 110s sitting in display boxes still and a few sitting among the jerkbaits still in the rotation.

For the under $10 baits Excalibur, Smithwick, Strike King, and Lucky Strike would get my vote. Maybe I need to give the x-raps yet another chance, but right now they are at least plan F.

I have 10 year old husky jerks and floaters that their paint is perfect.. Years of fishing... Got a few new ones xrap mostly the paint has been jacked up after fishing once or twice... Thats why im switching up. I know if the movement is still good its good... Lucky craft look great. Maybe one megabass and ill dive in the water if a 25dollar lure gets snagged even by a snappin turtle tail lol
