Siebert Outdoors Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 and ended up with a new St Croix Legend Elite LXC78MHM. I've been looking for quite a while for a rod that will handle crankbaits that is longer then 7"0" for fishing clear waters. The main thing I was looking for is a longer handle then my CBR.I'm going to break it in this Saturday and can not wait and I still need to buy a pistol. Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted November 7, 2013 Super User Posted November 7, 2013 Let us know how it performs.I'm sort of looking for a new deep crank rod. Oh, by the way, when you go back to the same store, buy another rod, not a pistol. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to shoot fish where you live. Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted November 7, 2013 Super User Posted November 7, 2013 I'm not sure if this is off topic or not but what pistol were you looking for? Quote

Siebert Outdoors Posted November 7, 2013 Author Posted November 7, 2013 I need a new Deep cranking rod. Any suggestions? I'd like to try one of the Loomis Deep Flex rods. Their 7'6" CBR is nice but the handle is about 2" short for me. I know because I have one. I'm going to try some dd22's on this new rod. we will see what happens. Quote
Super User bigbill Posted November 7, 2013 Super User Posted November 7, 2013 I like some of the pistols that have the double action on the first shot. Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted November 7, 2013 Super User Posted November 7, 2013 Maybe a Glock? Hootie I prefer Sig.... Though a revolver doesn't leave shell cases behind... Quote
BigMoneyGrip Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 I prefer Sig.... Though a revolver doesn't leave shell cases behind... Neither will a semi auto if you put it in a WalMart bag when you shoot! I learned this by watching American Gangster on TV. 1 Quote
Super User bigbill Posted November 9, 2013 Super User Posted November 9, 2013 Ruger just took off the redhawks off there website. Now maybe the time to get the revolver you always wanted. S&W took the m58 & m24' off there website too it seems there dropping some revolvers too. I would suggest a s&w nickel finish revolver in the N Frame. I guess the plastic pistols are surpassing the revolver sales. Quote

Man I kick myself daily. Love Ruger and Tuarus. They can keep the SW they don't even care enough to take the corners down. Feels sharp enough to almost cut u. The other two I mentioned cost less and much smoother feel inside and out to me anyway. Thought you where going to talk about pistol grip rods I was thinking dang they still sell those. . I could use a real pistol in the rod grip I think. I always see nice deer when fishing. Quote
John G Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 You can never have too many rods or pistols IMHO! I do value the Glock19 that I carry everyday more than any rod that I own! Quote

Crappiebasser Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 How do you carry a St Croix Legend Elite LXC78MHM and do you need a concealed weapons license????? They make an IWB holster but it only fits people 7'9" and taller. Quote
Super User bigbill Posted November 11, 2013 Super User Posted November 11, 2013 I have shoulder holsters for 6"/6.5", 7.5" & 10 1/2" barrels. Love those redhawks. Yup I see more deer when fishing than during the hunting season. I have no clue how they know it's hunting season but they do. Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted November 11, 2013 Super User Posted November 11, 2013 I need a new Deep cranking rod. Any suggestions? 765 glass is an awesome deep cranking rod... couldn't be happier Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted November 11, 2013 Super User Posted November 11, 2013 So Mike, how did the new stick perform? Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted November 11, 2013 Author Posted November 11, 2013 Awesome!! I was throwing a square bill with it. It casts great. I ended up wit about 6-8 fish on it. Its a great rod and handles the fish extremely well. If I get bit on a real long cast its no issue setting the hook and moving the line. Absolutely no complaints. 1 Quote
