Does everyone on here fish for bass all winter long or do you have a cutoff date?

I try to fish year round, only because its mostly warm where I live. Yet it does get pretty cold and I do get 'skunked' very often in the winter; but I just love to fish.

Yep, all winter long. I also spend quite a bit of time fishing for white bass and wipers during the winter. On very rare occasions I'll fish for crappie too but they have to be biting and have to be big to get my interest since I don't eat them.

i pulled the battery last weekend. it was 26 here this morning and not too many bass on slow rolling lures could draw me out of hibernation lol

Even the walleye I catch get tossed back if I'm not fishing with someone who wants them. Walleye tastes alright, and I've had catfish and crappie that was decent, I just don't enjoy it enough to bother filleting and cooking them.

I live in Iowa and fish as long as the water is not iced over and I can get my boat in and out. Once that happens I begin my trips south, for example I'll be in Texas the first week in December. If you can catch fish through the ice you can catch them in cold water. It is slower fishing and less productive for me, but you can't catch bass setting on the chair watching TV! I have fished 47 years for bass only, but do catch other species occasionally.

That's why he rides by and puts them Walleye in my live well :)

We are lucky to have spots that we can fish year round! IMO if the wind is under 15mph its go time!
