People it looks like the A game is on this month! Â Â I learned 6 months ago, that to play here, you always have to bring your A game. Just when you think no one can match your catches, someone always does. This month I get a feeling its going to be a photo finish sort of speak. Quote
Super User MCS Posted November 4, 2013 Super User Posted November 4, 2013 MCS, what is the rattlesnake lure??, I am always interested in new lures Grande Bass Rattlesnake... They make 3 size, I use the middle size which is 4.75, they make a baby and a diamond back....it is a ribbed worm, kinda like a stick bait with a looser more seductive wobble on the slow fall. It is heavy enough to cast a mile weightless. I fish it weightless or weighted Texas rigged and because of the ribs it is a 100% weightless. My favorite way to fish is with a 1/16 and gently swimming or sweeping it. Best color for me is junebug red flake and trophy hunter is good too. Gonna try a different color this time around. 1 Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted November 4, 2013 Author Super User Posted November 4, 2013 MCS, those grande soft plastics look good. Your fortunate they sell it so close to you. BPS does not carry it I don't think. Quote

Nope as far as I know academy is the only on that sells them but it is limited colors. So I am gonna try green pumpkin or sssandberg and see if that works like junebug. Quote

dsidle61 Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Super busy weekend for me, we had the florida georgia football game here in Jacksonville so I put in just over 20 hours of work yesterday and today (I work at the football stadium). Tomorrow is my off day so im on a mission to get myself a new rod and hopefully see how she handles some fish tomorrow. My wife was up in Louisville this past week for an FFA event and the souvenir she brought me back was a literal pile of ribbit double hooks size 5 from the bass pro she went to up there. I have only found them ever one time here in Jax and it was 1 pack lol, i think mainly bc AK buys out every store before i can get there hahahah. Looks like everyone had some big weekends, i see lots of people put up 5 fish already so im on a mission tomorrow. 1 Quote

Went out today, slept in just stopped by my local publix pond for 30. No big ones biting. Tons of bait swimming the banks and lots of 1-2 pounders slamming. But I focus deeper trying to get something big....give a better spot a try tomorrow. Quote

I am soo ready to hit the water this weekend. Cant wait to be able to just leave everything on the boat when I am done fishing. I am tired and sore, but should be good by Sunday. Hopefully I should have my new Crucial and Clarus rods by then to use. This month may be tough for me fishing wise, but I will make it work the best I can. The good news is that there is plenty of new water that I need  to fish around here. I will be beating the banks in my neighborhood, and I have a nice lake area with some (hopefully) promising coves that should hold some decent fish. Now I just have to find a place to drop the boat in. 2 Quote

By the way what do you all use to post pictures on this site any suggestions? I have an iPhone and for whatever reason the pic the phone takes file size is too big so I have to email it to myself, google email to google email, and then it gives me the option to resize to medium. Then I save the pics to my phone and from here it allows you to upload them straight from your photo album. When I am on my lap top I go to tinypic.com and use the message board option (for size) and then just copy and paste it to my post. Hope that helps you out, I'd like to see the big ones you caught what did you catch them on? Quote

1234567 Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Fished a small canal later in the day today and caught several, most were small. Â Wind was blowing good and overcast. Â Both caught on Seibert shakey head jig with netbait t mac 6.5 inch in sun perch color. Â Typical canal fishing, cast to bank and slide it down the contour. Â Pick ups were very light. Â a 16 and 17 inch. Â Quote
Super User LgMouthGambler Posted November 4, 2013 Super User Posted November 4, 2013 Ok, got all the catches and lures used so far. Did them with some down time at work. Dam there is gonna be a lot of you guys this month I guess. I didn't think that there would be that many participants, lol. Oh well, I am gonna have to get more organized with a binder or something. Â So far the patterns of catches seem to be topwater frogs, vibe worms, and baitfish type baits (flukes and EZ's). This is the general pattern this time of year. So far you are all doing pretty good. Â Biggest fishes so far are dsidle-21" on a Ribbit frog in Lusiana craw Mutt-21" on a white fluke 1 Quote
