Super User BassinLou Posted November 1, 2013 Super User Posted November 1, 2013 Alright gang, a new month is before us and you all know what that means..... new competition time!!! If you participated last month, or you are new member, or you have been following us now for while and you're just curious. Now is your time to join us. I am proud to say that this will be our 6 month of having this monthly competition. Last month we had 20 participants and we are looking to grow that number. So please, any BR FL member can join. All we ask is that you play fair and have fun while you are with us. The rules are simple. Go bass fishing, and if you deem your fish is worthy to brag about, then all you have to do is measure your fish, take a clear picture of the whole fish confirming the length on a measuring device. For example a ruler, tape measure, etc... The person with the longest 5 bass at the end of the month wins bragging rights. The beauty of this competition, there are no entry fees, no prize money, just pure clean fun for bragging rights. You can fish from the bank, from a boat, from a yak, from canoe anywhere that it is legal to fish. No, the tank at basspro does not count. LOL. Also please make sure your fishing license's are up to date. On a side note we also have big fish honors. That simply means we recognize the angler who has caught the biggest fish in the month. For that recognition you will need a scale and picture confirming the weight of your catch. When you take a pic of your catches you have up to 5 days to post those pictures on our forum. To avoid any misunderstandings on your post, please include the date of the catch. I will take care of the rest and track your catches and progress. I will post daily and weekly standings. A new feature this month, fellow participant and member LMG, has taken upon himself to compile additional information about our catches. For example, the time of day of your catch, the lure or bait you used, the line you were using etc. etc. he will compile that information as a resource for all of us to have. He will post separately and go into more details soon. Lastly, this competition is for fun and to share our experiences for the rest of us can learn from. Any intentional acts to mislead or harm this competition as a joke or otherwise is highly discouraged, and you will be disqualified for those actions. We are participating in a honest, and clean competition. By saying " I am in" you are accepting the guidelines of this competition. If any one has any questions or concerns please PM me at any time. I am here for all of you. Best of the luck everyone, let's have an awesome November!! and with that..... I AM IN!! Lou 2 Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted November 1, 2013 Author Super User Posted November 1, 2013 One last thing... I forgot to mention one last important detail. The entry cutoff date is Tuesday Nov 5. After that date, we will still love ya, however your entries will not count toward this competition. You can still post and follow us however. We will welcome you back in December. Quote

Super User LgMouthGambler Posted November 1, 2013 Super User Posted November 1, 2013 OK, to add to what Lou was talking about on the information about your catch. If you would like to participate in this just add a little info on the way you caught the fish. For example: I caught this 20" on a Zoom Brush Hawg in Watermelon seed, Texas rigged, jigging through grass, in the afternoon. If you would like to make a seperate post about each fish with a little story (if they are monsters) you may, we are obviously not shy about the # of posts in this thread, lol. Also, say you go out in a day and you dont catch anything big (like when Lou and I went out) but were hammering them all day, you may do so as well, because that may help others to think about what kind of baits they should be throwing. Im sure all of you will post this info in your own little ways, but I will be monitoring the tactics that you use, with the times of the month (granted you remember the days you caught them, and post them fast enough) and using this info to make a weekly post with Lou after he puts up the top 10 for the week. I will be adding in my own little observations I make on the water as well, and will try to put this all in a little "report". At the end of the month we will have a record of: Who caught the biggest 5, and what on. What all of your fish were caught on, and the most used lures, and which ones seemed to work best for that month, etc. If you have any questions on this please dont be afraid to ask. If you would be interested in participating in this, please note that in this thread by Nov 5 with your entry. Thank you. Good Luck. 3 Quote
Super User MCS Posted November 1, 2013 Super User Posted November 1, 2013 I'm in and I will start us off. Got this 19.5", girth was about 11" this morning(sorry about the crappy pic, tape got twisted) on a Texas rigged redshad green flake 7" gambler ribbon tail with a 5/0 Gammy superline hook and a 1/16 green pumpkin BPS bullet weight. 30lb braid on my carbonlite/pflueger combo. Missed two earlier in the same area, worked way down bank a little with nothing on the way back to the car I figure this was the spot so I threw the worm out and BAM! They didn't like big sweeps or draggin but little hops back with a short pause. took the bait closer to shore than I had a few weeks ago. Started at about 6:10 today got this one at 6:50 and left. 4 Quote

Super User BassinLou Posted November 1, 2013 Author Super User Posted November 1, 2013 Ok... we are less than 24hrs in November, and we have 12 people in and one catch already. This starting off real nice. Remember cutoff is Tuesday we still have plenty of time to come on board. Everyone who posted their intentions to play, I got you down. On Wed I will post all the competitors names under the regions of the state they are from. For example Jacksonville already is being represented so far by 4 people. Quote
