My short experience with a SputterBuzz was very rewarding as far as catching fish, but it was a bear to cast because of wind resistance. Evidentaly, this not only casts better, it has a body that wobbles vs. just following behind the blade which can be a plus. My initial thought is to tie on a Torpedo when I want to pause a topwater and go to a buzzer when I want to cover water. Guess this could cover both bases when attempting to establish a pattern. georgeyew Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I have one, but have not dedicated much time to it. I typically bring only one rod when I fish. And for the buzz plug you really need a MH or H rod (it weighs close to an ounce). But I love the buzzbaits and I love how the buzz plug floats, so it should be a winner. I will try it out later this weekend and report back. Quote

moguy1973 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I have one, but I wish it was about half the size it is. Weighing in at right around an ounce, it's a big big bait. It does cast a country mile, but man it's big. I had a fish blow up on it the 2nd cast I made with it but came up empty on the other end as the fish completely missed the hooks. Makes a lot of commotion in the water and it's nice to be able to stop and start it without it sinking like a standard buzz bait. Quote

I'd imagine the treble hook would pull in some vegetation or hook onto a pad if you are fishing in heavy pads or heavy cover. Quote

But I would still imagine it would be a pain to fish in heavy cover or pads Quote

It might hang up and then you can't retrieve it unless you have thick line. On a boat not a problem. Quote

Seems like it's more of a boat lure than bank for the reason you pointed out Quote
