flipin4bass Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 I love these jigs! Just finished tying a couple of Dredge Heads I got from Siebert Outdoors and am very pleased with the how they are turning out. The cutting points on these Owner hooks are extremely sharp. (Actually drew blood tying one of them) I'll be tying quite a few of these over the next couple of months to give as Christmas gifts to my brother and friends. Thanks GMAN for making and offering these for us who like tying our own. 2 Quote
Brian Needham Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 I think the owner deep throat is hands down the best jig hook out there. I have no idea why many jig makers quit using it, once you stick em they are stuck! Quote

Brian Needham Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Is that thanks to the squared hook? (seriously) I really don't know to be honest, but I sure can't think of many I missed since I started using it a few years ago. 1 Quote
DelcoSol Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 I agree. My favorite jig from Siebert. Quote
CPBassFishing Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Is that thanks to the squared hook? (seriously) the cutting point penetrates very easily, but the problem with that on a round bend hook is that it tears a hole and the bass can throw your jig. Owner recogized that and designed a hook that would not fly out when the bass headshakes. Quote

I admit I haven't paid attention to it in a whiel but I could swear I have cutting points on a normal EWG Trig hook, No? Quote
dreamertino Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 I got a couple of the dredge football head jigs myself I love the way they look. Can't wait to fish them Quote

I don't have any Owner EWG's. If it has two little indentations and the point is a slight diamond shape then its a cutting point. Quote

IIRC, all my packs say cutting point, will look tomorrow. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Thanks!!! The Dredge head has been a great seller since I added it. It probably outsells everything else or real close to my Big O jig. I've fished it quite a bit before and still do. This jig and the Big O are by far my favorite. Quote
WhiteMike1018 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 those skirts look absolutely amazing Quote
Super User bigbill Posted October 29, 2013 Super User Posted October 29, 2013 Looks like more of Mike's awesome quality jigs I have to get. Fishing lures is like ammo we can never have too much of it. I found out I can throw these jigs a country mile with my new 7' bait caster rod using braid and my $1.40 reel. Quote
