Super User Gatorbassman Posted September 24, 2010 Super User Posted September 24, 2010 I have never liked Frog Toggs. They are very hot. After a summer rain I was as wet from sweat as I would have been had I never put my Toggs on, and after a year they were tourn up. I spent the extra cash for a GorTex suit and it is great. It should last me for years and I stay dry. Quote
Uncle Leo Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_10207492_175003000_175000000_175003000_175-3-0 You may want to give the Bone Dry a look. These are much cheaper than the Pro Quailfiers and are of good quality. I just picked up a Parka and was impressed. Quote
KC Bass Fanatic Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 I really like Frog Toggs. I haven't had an issue with them getting hot myself. If you go with the Toggs get the "Pro Angler" style. These are way better than the pants because you don't get the jacket riding up and letting water down your pants Quote
lynyrdsky1 Posted September 24, 2010 Author Posted September 24, 2010 I may have to try the bone dry. Is it as breathable as the pro qualifiers. Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 I love DryHide or StormHide products. They are light, flexible and keep me dry for a fair price. Columbia Sportswear also makes a great product if you don't fish in subfreezing temps. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted September 25, 2010 Super User Posted September 25, 2010 I've found that I need two suits. 1 - a heavy duty suit for early and late season duty - a Cabelas Guidewear suit fits the bill. Mine is going on 9 years old now. I don't need to wear it very often, but it is a good thing to have when you need it. 2 - a lighter weight suit for late spring & summer rain showers. Frogg Toggs fit the need there. The suit with bibs works for me better than the one with pants. I haven't had any problems with them being sticky or uncomfortable to wear. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted September 25, 2010 Super User Posted September 25, 2010 I bought a Field and Stream suit from Dick's last year. It is light, dry, and breathable. It also has a liner. Zipper pants bottom so you can put it on over boots w/o having to remove them. The liner allows you to wear less clothing underneath on cool days, yet is surprisingly comfortable on hot rainy days. I bought another because they are now on sale. Regularly 120, now 80. They come in the sueded version in the link below and regular smooth polyester. The only complaint is that I would prefer bib pants. They do tend to ride down and if you don't pull them up before sitting, the next thing you know rain will be running down your butt. I'm getting suspenders to solve that problem. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3676720 Quote
southern Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 i know they are too high but even me being the tight wad i am,the pro qualifier suit is money well spent.i have used mine in cold and hot and it works great. Quote
