1234567 Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 I have about a half dozen of each of these and have caught fish with both. Funny thing is the spro seems to look nicer and have a more realistic action but I have caught a few more fish on the Revolution shad which were also larger fish. What one do you guys prefer and what ways do you fish them? Quote
Primus Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 I didn't care for the Reaction Strike, stopped fishing it. I've done well on the SK King Shad and have caught a couple of good ones on the 5" Tru Tungsten this year. I can't catch anything on the 4" Spro BBZ-1 but I've caught a few on a recently purchased 6" BBZ-1 in a Perch color. I've recently added a 5" Tylure Kicker Sunfish to the line-up, looks beautiful in the water but I haven't fished it other than a few cast to see what it looks like. The bait that I'm real excited about is the 6" River to Sea Live Eye Bottom Walker which weighs about 2 oz. Started fishing it recently and the smallest size fish I've caught so far is a 3 lb bass and the largest is a 41" Pike with another 7 nice bass caught fishing it app 10 hours so far. It's certainly not a numbers bait but it does a great job selecting larger fish. The only drawback is with the heavy weight it's easy for them to throw it so keep em' from jumping if you can. The other thing I've observed is that the fish will bump the bait and I've had a couple come back and nail it. I've been throwing it in deep water and crawling it uphill on points etc. Gradually swimbaits are becoming a bigger factor in the way I approach fishing. Quote
NewAngler Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Haven't touch a reaction strike since my bull bream. Of those two, I'd choose the Bbz all day. But if you're looking for a another shad swimbait option, check out the Tylure kicker shad. Tyler is a great dude, and can customize any bait. River2sea has some great baits, too. Especially for being a full production company. For a larger bait check out the r2s wood'n slither.. money lure, fo sho. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted September 14, 2010 Super User Posted September 14, 2010 High Power Herring Better than both baits mentioned as far as action and durability. I have thrown mine off rocks, boat docks, pilings, etc and have not busted the bait up. Throw the RS or Spro against those and see what happens. The Tylures is a nice looking bait as well, although I do not have any to share personal experience. Quote
1234567 Posted September 14, 2010 Author Posted September 14, 2010 I contacted randall about the high power herring and I know I will be purchasing a few down the road. I just recently learned about these baits about two weeks ago from here. Quote

Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted September 14, 2010 Super User Posted September 14, 2010 I can't catch fish on either, nor can I catch fish with the TT, SK sexy swimmer, magic swimmer, or really any other swimbait, and I have a small collection ofdifferent baits. Quote
1234567 Posted September 25, 2010 Author Posted September 25, 2010 last night fishing the spro shad I felt a decent thump and I set the hook. Felt like a decent fish and then it came unbuttoned. I thought I had a good hook set and when I got my spro back up I looked at it and the treble hook just came off the bait. Have no idea what happened!! Had alot of nice bites on the spro this night though. Quote
