I wouldn't take that if you gave it to me. Well, maybe, but it would be heading to the aluminum recycler! Those trackers have enough issues without being bounced off the road!

Please describe all "issues" with aluminum-hulled Trackers manufactured over say, the last five years.  I would also very much appreciate it if you could provide proof that these issues are not just hearsay.

Also, I would venture to say that since, by far, Tracker is the largest manufacturer of aluminum boats in the nation, they would receive the largest number of complaints.  For example, if Tracker produces 10,000 boats per year and has quality issues with 1% of their boats, that's 100 complaints.  If a competitor producing only 1,000 boats per year has the same percentage of quality issues, then they receive only 10 complaints.  So, it stands to reason that Tracker would get an unfair bad rap.

Don't bring silly math and logic into this....lol

I am curious on the story behind it too.

I've had one (older rivetted pincushion).  I have friends that have had them.  Can't say they were from the last 5 years....they were 2007's.  Leaks around fittings, cracks in the hull near the transom, poor welds, stringers not welded at all, all around bad fit and finish  I don't need to provide proof......I've seen it myself.  Every manufacturer has problems, but the one you hear about most is Tracker.  maybe it's because they make the most boats.  Maybe instead of 'making the most', they need to reign it back and produce a better product.

Sorry guys I had a tournament and spent my time researching and doing homework so I didnt fall behind.

At the end of september a friend in my collegiate club was headed to a tournament and totaled  his   van and his boat. On the way down to the tournament around 420am he was about 30minutes away  from the lake and knew the exit was coming up. His van is really awkward and doesnt have a spot for his gps and  his suction cup mount broke.  His coangler had taken a nap but woke back up about 5 minutes before the accident.  As they were driving down ( in the rainy conditions, going about 53mph or maybe 63 all I know was it was way too fast for conditions) he decided to check his gps and started to drift left. As he drifted left he tires went off the road. In an attempt to correct this he pulled right and got his van tires back but his trailer didnt come. His van lost control and started to fishtail lose control etc to the right. He went off the other side of the road in between the off ramp and the ditch. The trailer basically jackknifed and the boat was ejected and skidded probably 50yards in the grass.  As this was going on the slammed into the exit sign and almost smashed into a concrete pipe. From what he said they both would have been hurt really bad if they hit the pipe. It really sucked getting a call at 426am that they were in a ditch but it was better than finding out they both were in the hospital or something.

I don't get it....your buddy wasn't insured? Why $1500? Was that his deductible?  I mean surely the boat was totaled up.

Yes he did. After you claim insurance/ pay deductible etc the insurance company takes the boat and attempts to sell it through a salvage company. He knew where the boat was and the name of the salvage company so he found it online and sent it to me because I wanted to see more pictures of the damage.
