Brook Trout???

I caught one of these in a small creek a couple miles from Lake Superior. Is it a brook trout?

Not a brookie. This is what a brook trout looks like.

 

 

Could be a young coho salmon or a rainbow.

Might be a stocker fingerling but i don't think so.  Looks like a rainbow, maybe.

I'm not sure what it is, may not even be any kind of trout, the upper and lower lip do not protrude enough.

Try typing in juvenile Brook Trout in google images. I think that it kind of looks like some of the pictures.

I've done several years worth of work with brook trout especially young of year and thousands of adults and can 100% tell you it's not a Brookie. To me, it looks like a wild rainbow, but I've never seen a smelt or coho in person as mentioned in previous posts.

Thats a rainbow.  Notice the darkish spots on its darker back.  But i have caught brookies that look silver kinda like that.
