Super User Fishing Rhino Posted October 25, 2013 Super User Posted October 25, 2013 Thin crust. Bacon linquica topping. For those who don't know what linguica is: http://www.linguica.com/ Quote
Fish Chris Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 I haven't had a bite of Pizza in 4 years. Heck, for that matter, I haven't ate bread or cheese for about 3 years either. Don't even miss it the tiniest bit. I was SOOO freaking sick of Pizza, Buffalo wings, and pasta, that it was the easiest thing to quit eating, when I started eating healthy. BTW, you always know when a person does not "work around pizza every day", because they pick the most boring, played out, excuse for a pizza.... like, pepperoni... with tomato sauce LOL Ooooh ! Ahhh ! Bet they stayed up the whole night before to come up with that, huh ? LOL Here, try this > Canadian bacon Bacon bits, onions, pineapple, fresh garlic with light BBQ sauce Oh, and another thing.... Everybody always thinks that ranch sauce is only used with a ckicken pizza, and that used with anything else, it would be weird. When in reality, if you like ranch sauce, you will probably be surprised how good it is with pepperoni, Canadian bacon and pineapple, maybe even on a combo, or especially a vegetarian. OR, no sauce at all. You can use a light coating of olive oil instead. BTW, I believe pizza (and cheese, and bread) are all totally fine > If you eat a ridiculous small portion... like 1 or 2 slices. Instead of 1/2 to 3/4's of a fat, stacked up large, in a single sitting..... Like I used to always do Peace, Fish Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted October 25, 2013 Super User Posted October 25, 2013 I like real NY style - Lombardo's has some of the best slices I've had. There's also a small place here run by a couple from Brooklyn and they have the genuine article. Chicago style to me is something totally different than "pizza" - it's really it's own thing. We also have a place here run by a Chicago transplant that makes real Chicago style pizza. A third favorite of mine, and I'm not sure this available in many places is Sicilian style. It's a VERY thick, bready crust with chunky, home style toppings. Get pepperoni on it, and you'll enjoy 1" thick, diagonally sliced pieces of pepperoni, charred to perfection. They've opened a few Grimaldi's here in Dallas. Best pizza I've ever had in my life. I've never been to the original but 2 people I know who have, say the new one's here are very close. Quote
Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted October 25, 2013 Super User Posted October 25, 2013 Depends on my mood I guess but after working for Dominos 6 nights a week for the last 3 years, I can honestly say that I'm thoroughly sick of pizza. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted October 25, 2013 Super User Posted October 25, 2013 Technically, Domino's is a pizza like substance. 3 Quote

Burruccis I think I butchered the name lol. But every Tuesday it's 6 or $7 large carry out pizza and Thursday is $1 beer Yeungling, Bud, Bud Lite and $1 red wine. Place is always packed so they give you free glasses of wine while you wait around key is to throw away your cup or finish your glass before your are seated and they don't charge you a WHOLE $1. Lol some guy told me that last night because my girl was having wine and I laughed. I like Brooklyn pizza too but that one on bartram seems hit or miss sometimes. There's another spot in Ponte Vedra that has good pizza in the Publix plaza. To be honest the pizza places in FL suck compared to NJ/NY for obvious reasons. Quote

It's in the plaza next to where The Loop is. I never ate at the Loop my cousin said it was ok. I don't think he got pizza maybe a burger I remember thinking why go to a pizza place and get a burger. I'm not a fan of those "fast food pizza places" but I did have Little Ceasars deep fish once and it wasn't bad for $8 lol Quote

Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted October 26, 2013 Super User Posted October 26, 2013 Technically, Domino's is a pizza like substance. I agree 100% but since I'm there pretty much all the time and often don't get a chance to eat before work, I gotta do what I gotta do. You guys are making me sick with all this Dominoes and Little Cesars talk At least Dominos is made fresh. I'm pretty sure Little Cesar's is all frozen stuff and then it sits in the warmer for however long. In any case, I'd much prefer pizza from a small family owned pizzeria like the one down the street from my house. Quote
Hanover_Yakker Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 My personal favorite is here in Richmond, VA from the famous Bottoms Up pizza..... http://www.bottomsuppizza.com/menu_pizza_bottoms_up_richmond_va.php ......but you better make time on your schedule to wait. This place is packed and unless you order carry out or local delivery in the city, it usually takes close to 30 minutes to get your pizza from the time you order it. I am stuffed after eating just two slices of their pizza. It makes Pizza Hut's pan pizza look like thin crust!! .....but if I am in the mood for a simple pizza and don't want the wait, I opt for a large pie from one of the three Italian restaurants here in town. They bring out the types of pies where one slice is the wequivalent of three slices from the delivery chains. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted October 26, 2013 Super User Posted October 26, 2013 I cannot stand Bottom's up pizza myself but i also don't like the casserole pizza. Best around here for NY style is Mimmo's off pole green. We get it at lest once a week. Fish Chris Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 The slice of Pizza Hut pizza I had for supper was good to me! The slice ? As in 1 slice ? So that was the appetizer, what's for supper ? Well hey, if you can eat 1 slice of pizza, and be okay with that, then pizza is probably fine for you. For myself, if I can't eat a truckload of something, I'd rather just not tease myself with any of it to begin with. I always ate at least half a large, and since I built it {stacked it} myself, that was usually equal to 1 whole large, that somebody might walk in and buy... But Tuckaho knows what I'm talking about.... really hope I never have to eat another slice of that garbage again LOL Peace, Fish Quote
