Who used these and what are your takes on em? The local tackleshop around my way has them for 10.99 and I'm thinking about picking one up. I did a search but didn't see anybody saying if they like them or not. Thanks for any info.

So just about everything fishing related is a joke then?  or just not the stuff you use?

Hmmm -My 3 cents- Koppers have very nice realistic finishes to them.  I find baits that are to realistic looking  get bypassed by predator fish . BAITS that usually get bit have something different to them -a flaw -an erratic action something that sets them apart from the others. In clear water-(10ft of visibility) I believe that the more realistic a bait looks could help it get bit but for dirty or stained water-I believe the patterns and colors get distorted. Now for their realistic  frog-that won ICAST best lure-Tell me what sets it apart from every other frog-. Its the subtleties that trigger strikes compared to other lures that dont have them.

I have a ton of confidence in the Pumpkinseed lures - in clear water.  I like the finish and action and have caught muskie, bass and other pumpkinseed on them.  Can be quite an effective lure under the right conditions, and provided that they match the appropriate forage in the body of water you are fishing.  In stained or murky waters, I would choose brighter colours.

With respect to the comment on them being too realistic and fish targetting prey that look like there is something wrong with them; Does that mean a predator fish will not eat a healthy prey fish?  Would not a predator fish determine the state of a fish by the way in which they swim?  If so, then the retrieve and variations on the retrieve, bouncing of structure, etc., would be how one would instill the notion of your lure being an injured baitfish.

Just my opinion.
