Ldavis Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 What is the best way to get the shine back on spinnerbait blades? Quote
Super User grimlin Posted September 18, 2010 Super User Posted September 18, 2010 Tooth paste.... ;D Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted September 18, 2010 Super User Posted September 18, 2010 Tooth paste.... ;D He's not kidding. Or you could really get serious and use metal polish and a Dremel tool with the felt polishing wheel. Then apply a clear coat when done. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted September 18, 2010 Super User Posted September 18, 2010 Tooth paste.... ;D x2 ~ ya beat me to it ! A-Jay Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted September 19, 2010 Super User Posted September 19, 2010 Bar Keeper's Friend followed up with a coat of car wax. EDIT: IMHO, the car wax really shines them up and protects the blades a little longer before you have to clean them again. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted September 19, 2010 Super User Posted September 19, 2010 fine steel wool T Won't that scratch the heck out of it? Quote
tbird Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Steel wool will restore tarnished blades without scratching them, the key is to use very fine. T Quote
tennsopher Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Get yourself a can of Brasso in the cleaning section of the supermarket and a soft cloth.A single can should last you for years. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted September 21, 2010 Super User Posted September 21, 2010 i use a jewelers cloth. It brightens them up and no worry about scratching the surface. Quote

EDIT: IMHO, the car wax really shines them up and protects the blades a little longer before you have to clean them again. X2^ Any very fine abrasive cleaner will work. The important part is to seal the surface of the blade after polishing. Without some sort of sealant, the blade will quickly tarnish again. Tom Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted September 21, 2010 Super User Posted September 21, 2010 Coke and a cloth to buff with. Try it once. Quote
Hot Rod Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Also try tomato ketchup, lemon juice or vinegar. Anything slightly acidic should do the trick Quote
