paulkuan Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Hi, I am looking for a medium heavy rod power for use with soft lure head sealed between 1/2 oz and 1 oz Looking for a good sensitive rod that would complement my Cumara MH. I looked at the side of Fenwick, (a brand that is not sold in France) and including Aetos. Is someone could tell me more about this product and whether it should be for what I want to do. Quote
Arv Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Over $200, I would loot at a Dobyns Champion or Champion Extreme. Under $200 I would at a Powell Encurance, Powell Max, Phenix M1 or Phenix Recon. St. Croix also makes good rods in all price ranges. 1 Quote
paulkuan Posted October 20, 2013 Author Posted October 20, 2013 I'll see at the side of phoenix but I confess I do not know too much for me. But no one can say more about the rod Aetos. Quote
Arv Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Ive heard great things about the aetos, but I dont know many people that use them. I think at that price it will be hard to find a bad rod. Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted October 21, 2013 Super User Posted October 21, 2013 Paulkuan, I own two Aetos and they are stellar rods. For the price point I can get them at .140 Canadian it is a steal, period. I own high end rods (GLX,Cumulus and midhigh - Cumara)...I fish the Aetos side by side with them and do not feel I lose a significant amount of sensitivity and comfort. The Aetos in my opinion is a rod that flies under the radar of the bigger manufacturers in the bass line up. They fish in the 200+ imo range, so for the price point it's an even better bargain. Still though, in the end it is personal preference on how a rod feels for everyone. Just letting you know my experience. Quote
paulkuan Posted October 21, 2013 Author Posted October 21, 2013 That's what I thought given the feedback I've seen on the net. Since in France some of these brands are not distributed is really difficult to obtain relevant advice. thank you very much Quote
