Super User 5bass Posted September 19, 2010 Super User Posted September 19, 2010 Looks like a good idea anyway. I'll definitely try them. Quote
helms83 Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 I saw the same episode. Joe Thomas had me wanting to find some that day! Still interested in them. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted September 19, 2010 Super User Posted September 19, 2010 First I've heard of them. Where can we get them? Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted September 19, 2010 Super User Posted September 19, 2010 http://www.tackletour.com/reviewspintechhooks.html Thats the review TackleTour did, they seemed to like them Quote
b.Lee Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 I bought a set on the release day last year for them at my local shop. My only issue is that they rusted after a few month. Even after using line and lure conditioner. My impressions: A little gimmicky. If you hook the fish with both trebles, it doesn't really matter spinning hooks or not. I feel like I lost more crankbait fish if I hooked the fish on the front hook, I think it is because the hooks turning caused more leverage against the fishes mouth or body, especially on larger crankbaits. If you happen to hook it on the back hook, it worked good, but again sometimes you don't realize the spinning part had rusted and it turns out to be just a regular treble hook. Quote

By chance did you try just putting a spin hook in the trailing treble position, while living the normal hook on the front of your crankbait? Quote
buzzcatcher Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 I bought a 5 pack of #4's for $8.00, pretty pricey. Put them on the rear only of some lipless cranks and it seemed like every fish I caught after that was only hooked on the front treble which is a standard hook. I kept thinking the hook was spinning away from the fish if it was bumped from the side, if you can understand that. I have since caught some on the rear hooks and have also lost a few on them. I have had one break but not at the part that spins, and they could be sharper. Over all, not impressed. Buzz Quote
Super User 5bass Posted September 20, 2010 Super User Posted September 20, 2010 Tackle Warehouse has them Quote
CAdeltaLipRipper Posted September 20, 2010 Author Posted September 20, 2010 I think im gonna order some it looks like a good idea to me. I mean the actualy hooks have to be better than the hooks that most crankbaits come with these days like speed traps Quote

By chance did you try just putting a spin hook in the trailing treble position, while living the normal hook on the front of your crankbait? That is how they are now. But the intended trial use was to see how they performed. And that is that I came to conclusion of. They suck on the front! I only bought a pack of them. I normally use Mustad Triple Grip Hooks Quote
Bryant. Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Ive tried them on some of my topwater baits and they do work very well at hooking fish and keeping them hooked. The only problem Ive had is that the points on the hooks roll over extremely easily. Ive had 6 out of the 8 hooks Ive bought bend the hook points over. Ive also had one hook break completely off. Ive heard they've fixed this problem. If I knew they wouldn't have the hook points roll Id definitely buy more of them. Quote
